Hmm... I just noticed a problem in Thief 3 that affects your Ghost setting. In Pagan Tunnels, the 3 spelunkers in the beginning were killed by the Pagans on their own. Thats 3 bodies. I'm playing Ghost. So I go through the rest of the level, and I throw a body I found onto the blood mark at the Paw. I run back to the shadows. 2 seconds after I quick save, the body is seen. Then I fail.
Would there be a way to change it so that bodies get tagged when they are killed by another ai or something? Something to make those first 3 bodies not count? Something like if someone on the same team as the AI that sees the body killed the body, then it doesnt count as a body being discovered?
I saved at the wrong second, because I just barely dont have enough time to prep a noisemaker arrow and send it into a corner the other direction of the AI so I can run and grab the body. I have 1 save way earlier in the level, and I don't want to have to redo it :(

It's a game not minimalist thing. If the AI finds a body they blame you for it (example: in the City when the thugs in Stonemarket kill a guard and a civilian finds it and doesn't see an armed enemy - they blame you). It is one of the things I don't understand - wanted posters all over the City, but everyone says: "Evenin". See some blood: "MURDERER! AAAA!" :tsktsk:
And you can quickly grab the body and run into the shadows, I presume. Or dump it between the rocks on the left of the altar, I think no AI looks there.
And bodies appearing in places are at least
strange...

Hmm, this presents some new problems.
If you're currently able to read the text without too much trouble, I would like to set it aside for now and focus on recreating the font map with a font that looks similar to that one but is easier to read. Carleton is such a thin font that it doesn't show up well ingame at all...even after making the letters bold. I'll create a brand new one from scratch with a more "eye" friendly font and get the cosmetic problems fixed.
I think copperplate gothic bold would work nicely.
Ok, means i play the game with the new 1.4.1 release and you work on a new one with an optimized font, if i understood correctly.

I know its a game thing, but I was wondering if the Minimalist project could do something about it.
Anyway, if I run down to the body from where I am, I get seen. If I take the time to send an arrow, the body gets seen. RAR!

Hmmm, I thought I had an allowance in Ghost mode so that wouldn't happen. May have gotten over looked. I'll fix it in the bug fix release due within the next few weeks.

Yup, if the fixes I made allow you to read the font then I would rather put my time into making a new font set that will clear up a lot of the problems I had with this one.

Okay... weird. When I finished the level, it said 2 bodies had been seen. The limit says no more than 3. If a third was found, game over. Also, I stumbled across 3 dead pagans. I thing they might have fallen off of a higher platform? Its kinda weird. Anyway, they all fell into the shadows, so they werent seen. But if I opened a door or whatever and they were seen, it counted as a body.
Buggy, if not amusing :P

Ahhh, so the no more than 3 buffer is in there. Good. I thought I had forgotten it. I put that in at someones request. Unless it's causing major problems, I don't think I'll up that limit.

Actually, right now you cant have 3. Its no more than 2.

Not sure if this is the right place to post but it can't be too far off the mark.
I just want to thank NH and all the contributors to the Minimalist Project.
I finally got around to buying TDS about a month ago and have spent the last week or so replaying TG and TMA to get myself in the mood (ah, such sweet memories :D). I finally got started on Deadly Shadows a few days ago and, whilst there were a few things that I didn't much like (loot glint, blue glow etc), most of them weren't game stoppers.
However, I found it virtually unplayable due to the migraine-inducing jerky motion in 1st person (and 3rd person wasn't a lot better). This is the first game I've ever played where the camera motion has actually made me nauseous. I persevered through a couple of levels but I was getting very close to shelving the game indefinitely.
I tried a bunch of things on the forum's tweak guide but nothing seemed to fix the problem. However, the Minimalist Project has near as dammit fixed everything, and I can now get back into it. You have my eternal gratitude for rescuing my Deadly Shadows experience :thumb:.
Excellent job on all the other tweaks too - what a superb mod!
