Just tried MP for a couple of minutes and understood, that I really want to play that! But I can't.
Minimalist Installer overwrites our brand cyrillic fonts, that we are using for Russian Translation Project. :(
Is it possible somehow to make fonts installation optional?
Another thing, that Minimalist Installer seems to overwrite, is a quotes, menues and books files. Well, they are easily repatchable again, but... Something tell me that doing this is not very correct.
And the last:
Are the items costs changed in MP? At least it would make sense rising a flashbomb cost.
I misread, the post. Sorry. You would need to backup your custom fonts prior to installing The Minimalist Project. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to make the text optional. The project resizes and moves much of the text and when the original text is used in its place there is spacing issues. The text changes span many many files. Sorry for the trouble.

Not very correct for me, of course, since it could make some oddities. But, if the spacing issue is only the problem, we would save our fonts and use translated text. And the problem is no more. Need to backup and try again...
Best solution would be to create similar cyrillics fonts specially for Minimalist Project. Lets see, if we can make it...
EDIT:
Just did another try. Everything works almost fine. We just need to update our patch, making it compatible with MP.
Thank you!

Hi New Horizon,
I bought Thief 3 when it came out, but I had such a backlog of games and I've been so busy in general that I have only just started to play it! Like you, I thought that there were some annoyances with TDP out of the box, and I am now thankful that I delayed playing the game so that I can enjoy it first time with your mod installed - it is a great improvement.
My only suggestion is not to replace the red health gem with the other texture because, as you say, it changes some of the other objects in the game and I think that the hammerite staff just looks silly now!
Anyway, thanks again, great mod!

Thanks for trying it out. :)
I should be able to work the health shield problem out with the editor but I'll have to play around with it after I've had a loooooong break. :)

The pleasure is mine! You take a nice long break ;)

I am playing through the game with minimalist 1.4 installed using the ghost difficulty and seem to have come across a catch 22 in the jacknall's paw mission. In order to get the paw, you need to put a dead body on the alter. In order to get a dead body you have to kill someone. Kill someone and the mission fails.

Took care of that problem. Have allowed for 3 kills in Expert mode.
Actually, that fix isn't necessary. There is one body that is already part of the level and is dead before you get there. That body works if you place it on the altar.

In the actor class browser, you need to go into the info section and poke around the Difficulty info.
It took me a while to find where the values where stored, so to save someone else some time, the values are in the Actor Class Browser under "MetaData/Info/DifficultyInfo/T3DifficultyInfo" and then in the right pane, expand "Properties/Difficulty/DifficultyInfoEasyDiffSettings". I modified the values there and the requirements for the "Cutpurse" playstyle were changed.

Sorry to have to bump this. I thought if I made a new post people would hate me, and if I bumped it I'd still get the same reaction! lol :cheeky:
I never knew about this mod. This is amazing. But I got some questions as I sit here ready to hit "Install".
1. Is there a comparison shot between the normal Minimalist HUD and the Thief 2 one you can chose to use instead? I mean I know what the Thief 2 HUD looks like but what does this Minimalist one look like compared to it?
2. To me what makes the game better or worse is the who difficulty thing. Whats diffrent about them now? I was confused about this:
"Cutpurse, Assassin, Thief and Ghost. All Playstyles have the same AI difficulty and Density."
So does that mean their vision, damage, sound...etc are all the same? Yes I am not the brightest bulb. If thats the case then how is any difficulty harder then another?
Ok thanks for letting me make a fool of myself! :thumb:

For what it's worth, I don't think those are bad questions at all. To this day I've still not played T3, initially because I couldn't handle shaders without buying a new card, but then because I hated all the garbage cluttering up the screen. And then I learned about the Minimalist project, and as cool as that is, it got confusing really quickly, because each new build was described as not just bug-fixes, but changes to game style and play based on the author's preferences (which in some cases weren't the same as my own). In other words, I couldn't ever figure out which build to use, and I certainly don't have the skills to edit things myself. Oh, and to top that off, not all mods for T3 work together, and I've seen a few that I thought were awesome, but couldn't figure out which ones I could install together. :)
I don't blame the author of this for doing things his own way and simply sharing his work for those that would enjoy it. However, I won't deny that I'd be thrilled if someone picked up the torch and made an all-inclusive, user-friendly GUI that allowed you to switch on/off everything easily on one setup screen, for those of us that need to try out various settings to see which ones match our own style of play. That would be very cool, if it's possible at all.
Also wouldn't mind seeing a comparative graph that showed which mods could be used with each other, and which conflicted. Always wanted to try some of those skin packs that beefed the graphics, but remember reading that some things conflicted with parts of them (to the best of my memory --it's been several years since I was last looking into this stuff).
But yeah, that's an excellent question regarding the different difficulty levels. I don't like ghosting, for example. Many will argue with me on this, but I find ghosting to be too easy. I never kill on a mission (with the exception of monsters, etc), but knocking out every guard on the map is much harder, and a helluva lot of fun. ;) That's my preference, and I'd really like to know which one fits that style, while retaining the traditional "expert" settings (nothing toned down or made easier).
