Do none of the guards grow fatigued now or just certain types of guards? One of the city watch stopped for breath when I was trying it out by running around some barrels.

I had tried to set it up so none of the guards would grow fatigued but I may have missed a setting somewhere. Was this from a save game? If so, it should be corrected when you pass through a load zone. I'll take a look into it though. Thanks. :)

Was a city section and after going through a load zone - the new sounds were working fine :)

Taken a look at this but I can't find any reason for this to be happening. Might be something hard coded that I can't get at. :(

I've been waiting to play T3 for some time now (I don't have a vid card that can handle shaders yet), and have been watching the T3 mods off and on for awhile, too. I remember the first time I saw the Minimalist project mentioned, how excited I got. What a great idea. I've read the previous posts in this thread, and at various points went from "wow!" to "ah, crap..." Mimimalist seems to have grown far beyond its original intention. I understand NH's stance that it's his project and we can like it or lump it, but that doesn't mean someone being a little frustrated at it not being everything they'd hoped it was is unfair. Both are valid points of view. Some of the alterations and mods are just outstanding. Some, honestly, kinda suck. No biggie, we each prefer different things. But I've gotta go with the other person that made the same comment on this one: would it really have been difficult to make the changes optional? Little checkboxes maybe, or even separate files to be installed as desired? I dunno. maybe it would be and it's asking too much. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful for NH's work. I'd rather have it look like T2 and have features I don't like than have everything perfect but be stuck with all that garbage on the screen. Still, I think I've got a lot of playing around to do with notepad, at least, to see what I can find to change in the cfg files. If there's a tutorial on that, please do point me in the right direction. :) One thing I see right off that I'd like to not only revert, but completely flip is the tiring from lack of stamina. Instead of stopping the guards from getting tired because Garrett doesn't, it'd be a lot more realistic to leave that in, but make Garrett tire, too (but not as quickly, since his stamina would be higher from his constant training in this regard). There's an old 3D hunting game from 7 or 8 years ago that does that. It's first-person, and if you run after an animal for too long, you start to breath heavy and slow down, and you can't run more until you've caught your breath. If they could do it back then, it's gotta be possible now. :)
Anywho, thanks NH. You've done a lot of hard work at creating something to share your perfect vision of the game. I only hope that I'm able to tweak things to make it "my" perfect game, too. :)

What we have now is actually around 95% of my original intention. I wanted to try and balance the gameplay further but at the time, there was no way to do this. With the editor, I was finally able to make those changes.

There are some optional components within the installer that do this already, but for an installer that offers the amount of choice on the magnitude many have desired it is...well...a LOT of work. There are numerous possible configurations and I don't think people realize that. It's a little more complicated than just allowing for a check box.
The Minimalist Project is and always will be, to the best of my ability, an attempt to bring the game into balance with Thief 1 and 2.
After a few final tweaks and bug fixes, I do believe I'll be closing the project up for real this time. Version 1.4 wasn't really planned and only happened due to some discoveries within the editor. :) Glad I got it out though.

Not even really my perfect vision. :) I bit my creative urge many times in exchange for trying to be as true to the originals as I could with the given tools.

Hey guys quick question. Is Minimalist compatible with John P.'s high res packs? And if so is there any particular way I should go about installing them?
Thanks!

John built the installer for me so they are definately compatible. :)
There may be some issues with some elements being overwritten. If you forget to uncheck the loot glint option and you are using Johns reduced loot glint, then you will have his replaced with my texture which eliminates the glint.
Proceed with caution and all should be well.

The only things they have in common(Minimalist and Misc. Pack) are the loot glint, frob highlight, arrow trails, Menu Background and Menu Header.
All those things (except arrow trails) are optional in the Minimalist, so if you already have the Misc. Pack installed, and would like to keep it's versions of these, you can just uncheck the options in the Minimalist Installer.
None of the other texture packs will be affected by the Minimalist, or vice versa. Except that with the Minimalist, you won't see Garrett's face at all, or outfit too well(third person is out).
If you have the Misc. Pack installed and then choose to install all the options in the Minimalist Installer, the things mentioned above from the Misc. Pack will be backed up, and restored when/if you uninstall those options from the Minimalist later.
As for arrow trails, The Minimalist removes the arrow trails altogether(my pack used to do that as well), but my Misc. Pack replaces the blue arrow trail with a quite transparent gray version.
If you install the Minimalist over the Misc. Pack, arrow trails will be gone(because that's not an optional component). But when you then uninstall the Minimalist, the arrow trail from the Misc. Pack will be restored.
If you then uninstall the Misc. Pack as well, the game should be back to normal, with all the default textures(except if you have other texture installers installed of course).
I think though that the Minimalist removes the "Deadly Shadows" header altogether, and has "The Minimalist Project" text in the other header texture(there are two), so if you install the Minimalist without it's Header option, it will still remove the "Deadly Shadows" text from the header. So it will just say "Thief" in big 3D letters up there, and the Misc. Pack's high res. "Deadly Shadows" texture won't show up either.
Sorry if this is all very confusing.... I'm almost confused myself. :P
In most situations though, there shouldn't be any conflicts.
