Mirror's edge, looks promising. - by Fragony

At this minute I'm unsure of how much diversity there will be to the animations.
And I hope the "enemies" will actually pose a threat when you're moving that fast.

I'd assume enemies would mostly come at you in the more contained locations like subway stations and the like.

Do continue to forget about Codename Eagle, quite possibly the most awesome thing they ever made (yes I'm biased).
Hey, BEAR...wanna play online? I love Codename Eagle. Is the kru into it?

I didn't mention CE due to the technicality that it was made by Refraction Games before they were bought by DICE. But yeah, it did rock. Especially the multiplayer. :)

First funny observation: the game is called Mirror's Edge but it doesn't have working reflective surfaces.
I like parkour; I like first person perspective; I like alternatives to shooters; so I already like this in theory. Let's see where they go with it.

The reflective surfaces work, they just don't reflect the player character, which is a UE3 problem.

I guess I was thinking they were pre-render canned in some way -- does it really render that whole background city? -- but yeah I suppose UE had reflective surfaces going back even to the Deus Ex days.
It's still funny that a game called Mirror's Edge doesn't have very good mirrors, funny not because of what UE3 can't do but because they chose that name in spite of that.

Why can't the image reflect the player?
