You won't be
truly lost to us until you get an iPhone and a Mac G4 (or whatever the fuck the Mac people use nowadays).

Only a halfwit would purchase a Macbook Air, it's a totally stripped-down POS. The rest of their Mactel line-up is fine though.

It is very nearly portable though. You can sling it in your bag and go places. That's a fairly radical improvement over most other laptops.
(obviously I don't have one - have you seen how much they cost? But I do have an eee pc, another totally stripped-down POS and I love it.)
Why are we talking about this?

Yeah, an improvement in portability and reduction of survivability. Drop it and it's
gone.

Wow... visually, this game is looking good. The lighting is excellent; Half-Life 2-style radiosity, taken to the next level.
I'm very skeptical about the gameplay though... It could be totally fresh and awesome, and at the same time, it might just come out boring as heck (much like Spore, so I hear).
The fact that DICE is working on it isn't too encouraging. Battlefield 2 proves they know how to make games, but it also proves they know how to load them chock-full of outrageous design decisions, and shovel them out in pre-alpha state. ...although EA could be to blame for the last part. But nothing excuses the "can't shoot while jumping", and "can't strafe while sprinting". So, after making the most IMMOBILE game in the world, now they're working on the most mobile.
Someone should start a big TTLG-wide bet on whether this game will come out good or not.

I can't imagine a soldier doing either of those things, tbh.

STALKER? Well you can strafe, but it breaks your sprint. As it should!

Isn't Battlefield 2 meant to essentially be OpFlash-Light? Jumping and shooting and running while strafing aren't things people can do. Especially not while loaded down with a hundred pounds of kit.

Pretty much, just with more BALANCE!.
