What do you mean? You linked to a family-friendly promotion for EA games? Nothing about male-only, there for sure.
There are little icons by each game suggesting which family members they're appropriate for. You know, just in case people forget that girls don't like sports, that sort of thing.

So, is everyone calling out examples of sexism falling victim to rampant PC behaviour in your opinion?

You guys: BUY THIS GAME ALREADY.
Everything bad the critics are saying is untrue. The combat doesn't suck, it's just difficult, as it should be. And the trial and error is practically painless thanks to an efficient checkpoint system. Claiming that you're only getting 6 hours for $60 is a lie -- anybody who actually plays this knows that the first run is just a trial, to get a feel for everything. And once you've got the time trails under your belt, you can go back to the main game and absolutely kick ass.
The critics are focusing on negatives that are far more exemplified in other titles (including several current ones), while practically ignoring things like the game's gorgeous aesthetics and graphics engine (perhaps the best looking title on the system), the unparalleled sense of movement (yahtzee is dead wrong here -- jumping in first person does work, and this game is proof), the soundtrack, and the satisfaction from accomplishing a goal. To complain about trial and error is like whining that you can't beat New Super Mario Bros on your first playthrough without dying. Ridiculous. Mirror's Edge is the best game I've played this year, and I want EA to realize what a great franchise they have here. SO BUY IT!

Well said Aja.
I didn't even notice an excessive amount of trial and error. In fact in a couple of places, what frustrated me was not knowing where to go next, as I played without runner vision.
I don't know why so many people are calling the game average, or 'a failed experiment', I thought it was absolutely a successful experiment.
And now EA are laying off thousands of their workers because of "lower than expected holiday sales".
I just think it's a real shame; here's a game with real innovation, and it pulls it off, but it seems that because it's not the second coming of Christ, it's "average", so nobody buys it, and reviewers just give it a patronising "maybe in the sequel, eh?" pat on the head.
I rented it and finished it, but it's still very much on my "to buy" list as it is a game I want to own. You're right that with the time trials and so on, it's not 6 hours for $60.
So, what Aja said.

I personally and more likely than not many others here, are waiting for the PC version, which is still ~3 weeks from release.

Not my problem that EA chose to shoot themselves in the foot by delaying the version for my primary gaming platform by two months. Cry me a river, I'm not going to buy an inherently lesser version (IMO) out of an imaginary obligation to a social crusade for the furtherance of the Gaming medium as an expression of art. Gaming in the foremost is entertainment for me, I do like to appreciate the artistic qualities, but not at the expense of enjoyment. Sluggish movement and low precision aiming does rain on my parade to an extent and I will always avoid it if there's the option.
BTW there is no doubt that Mirror's Edge will immediately benefit from mouse support, just like every other real-time First Person Perspective title, you're in denial if you believe otherwise.

Tried the X 360 demo recently, and I found it difficult to perform all these tricks on Pad (although controls are very convenient). I wonder how they will implement all those moves on keyboard + mouse. I guess I will wait till the PC version is released too.

According to a recent Gamespot preview of the PC version, it's spacebar for jump/up, L-shift for crouch/down, and Q for quick 180. I see myself re-mapping the quick turn to one of my mouse buttons.

Probably would, but if the tradeoff is no analogue movement, it's not a huge benefit.
