I doubt Yahtzee's actually stopping anyone from buying games. Most people have a natural squelch function for the opinions of those who call things crap too often. But his viewers enjoy his reviewing style, even if his points don't hold enough weight to affect their buying habits.
Besides, you suffer from Pompous Niche Gamer syndrome too, only you're in a different niche. And you're more obnoxious and far less funny.

I dunno, I think with something like Fallout 3 (or whatever AAA hype title of the month) people can sort of look at Yahtzee and laugh, but for games like Mirror's Edge which a lot of people are unsure about, even though they know it's comedy it might give them enough justification for them to save their money.
