That article I linked was from only 5 months ago, and I didn't see anything dated after that to the contrary after doing a few searches. Unless you guys know something I don't, it still seems like it's on.
It's definitely on. I just saw a trailer while watching EA's press conference at E3. Hell yes!
*quickly searches Youtube...*
And (

Well this is exciting ... :)
Seems like they're trying to make it more, uh, commercially appealing ... but if that's what it takes to get a sequel made, I can live with that.

Love that remix already.

Interesting. Some heavy duty people rendering there.
Also, if they're just putting the tatts on it suggests it could be a prequel.

The original was vacuum-sealed awesome. Sign me up for more.

Mirror's Edge is in my top 50 games of all time easily. If they keep it similar then boners all around here.

The weaknesses of the original included lack of exploration and the fight scenes. This trailer seems to emphasise exactly these points. But then it's a game trailer and they have to do that, I hear. Here's hope the actual gameplay is different.

In celebration of this news, and because this news has caused the 'the first game was great up until it forced you to use guns' argument to rear its head in other parts of the internet, I've decided to livestream a playthrough of the entire game, on hard, only firing seven shots (and none of them at people) on Friday evening, Pacific Time. More details to come.
Muzman on 12/6/2013 at 08:16
Yeah, that does get a little tiresome. There's clearly bits where they expected you to use guns or fight dudes and maybe they could have made the alternatives clearer or work better. But you still don't have to.
When I think of the lengthy defenses of Bioshock that blamed players for grinding via vitachambers for the fun they weren't having, and they should branch out and play around etc... Many people and journalists tell some story of how they quit because some wall was too hard or something and it wasn't even the wall they were supposed to care about (or they had to shoot guys to continue and the shooting sucks so they quit)

Seven? Why the heck seven? There's only one required shot in the game, and I'm having difficulty coming up with more than a single other useful shot that isn't at a person. I routinely play through with only the single shot (though beating up a bunch of people seems to be mandatory on the ship).
