Just finished Deus Ex for the nth time, and I must say I'm glad all those levels weren't included in the game. DX's too long already. I'd prefer getting straight to Paris from Hong Kong, and some of the Vandenberg/Sub base/Missile Silo continuum should have been shortened. It really gets boring in those levels.
Luckily, if I remember correctly, DX2 is made shoter but with greater replay value. Which is an improvement, if you ask me.

But if the plot was back in it could be that those missions wouldn't be boring.
If they let you choose some of the missions the added levels might not make the game any longer.
You never know.
