Hi
I created a small test-mission with DromEd 1.18 for Thief2. All works fine, except loading a savegame
in Thief2.
In the savegame-list the saved game looks ok. But everytime, when I want to load a saved game,
Thief2 just says: "Load Failed".
Any Idea what I can do ? I am absolutely new at creating missions.

In DromEd, check the Mission Parameter-->Dark Mission Description
Mission Number: xx
Mission Pathname: missxx

Thank you. It works now. I followed an tutorial, where the number-field was not mentioned. And so
I leaved it at 0 :D

If your mission is miss20.mis (an example), it should look like that
Mission Number: 20
Mission Pathname: miss20

Glad you sorted it out. Any reason you're still using 1.18 though?

I can't find Version 2. In the packages that I've found is always 1.18 included. I have to admit, that I've not searched
seriously. As Example the Download from here: (
http://www.fileplanet.com/56555/download/DromEd-2-Enhanced)
This you find in the readme:
-the 1.18 version of DromEd.exe.
-the internal LGS documentation.
-the updated DromEd 2 tutorial from Thief-TheCircle.com
And this is not the only one package with 1.18, that states, to offer Version2. So I think, it is a bit confusing, what
Version2 really means. Is there an ini-File etc. to replace, or is Version2 a new binary?

There is no version 2. If you see "Dromed 2" it's just peoples' way of saying "Dromed for Thief 2". What you have is Dromed 2 version 1.18, but you can omit the 2 because there isn't a version 1.18 for Thief 1. The final version of Dromed for Thief 1 is version 1.37. Now that that's been cleared up, you ought to be informed of the unofficial 1.23 patch. The first unofficial patch was 1.19, which has since been updated a few times. You don't need each new official patch. version 1.23 on its own can be installed.
Installing the 1.23 patch is easy. Download it from here:
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145511)
Open that zip file and then open new_dark.zip. Extract its contents to your Thief 2 folder.
Then go back and open editor.zip, and also extract its contents to your Thief 2 folder.
Dromed Enhanced is nice but old. There's something better called the Dromed Toolkit, which includes some better menus for Dromed:
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114292)
Extract the .cmd files to your T2 folder. Do not extract Dromed.exe - this is old and obsolete. The Tools folder contains some useful things which will come in handy once you're more familiar with Dromed.
One of the files in the newdark zip was menus-sample.cfg. Delete your existing menus.cfg, and rename the 'sample' to replace it.

Thank you, for explaining this and for the links and tips. It works great :-)
But one question to DromEd 1.23: In 1.18 I was able to leave Game-Mode with ALT-E. But this no longer works
in 1.23. Is this by intention, or miss I something ? At the moment I have to quit the Game-Mode as usual with
the "Thief2-GUI" and then DromEd is gone, as well.
Another problem with the new Editor:
To move an Brush in 1.18 worked well. Simply hold shift-key and drag the mouse.
But in 1.23 I have to release the shift-key every second; otherwise the Brush moves upwards by itself.
What sort of problem could this be ?

It sounds like something is wrong with your setup. For the ctrl-e issue, Check your key bindings. You should see a line with bind e+alt edit_mode. If you don't have a line like that in your bindings, there's your problem. Also in game mode you should always be able to use the command window (typically bound to ctrl-shift-; or ctrl-; but check you key bindings to be sure -- look for bind ;+ctrl edit_command) and type in the edit_mode command manually to exit game mode.
I tend not to use the drag approach to resize or relocate brushes. I prefer to key in the values to ensure that they are exactly on the grid. But I know others use that feature all the time without issues. So I suspect that there is something going on with your installation which is not right.

Did you try the suggestion at the bottom of the first post in the Dromed Toolkit thread?
I think it's something to do with a conflict with another command that also involves e, and possibly alt.

I just found an (
