Okay, I'm assuming you get a menu screen and all- could you tell me what happens when you try to play the game?
And could you post your system specs?

Odd, now it works. Ah well! Anyway, i am stuck after i read a letter whic says i should find a key, it mentions stairs, have searched everywhere but nothing. Haven't found a gun yet, dont suppose i missed it?

Look for a white metal plate on the floor just after the last of the body bags, knife it apart. Then look for a long thin wire past the busted door- it's in a dead end somewhere. Then return to where the plate was and fish the key out.
You'll get a gun eventually.

Okay hotshot. Rip the soundtracks yourself and let's see you put 'em up for everyone to use- and I'm not talking on your fancy iPod, I'm talking in the goddamn game. Until you do that, then stop complaining that anything is being "forced" on you.

How you like them apples?

You actually had the balls to do it? Colour me impressed. Now I'll link people to these and not the other versions and you won't feel so oppressed anymore! :thumb:

Hate how these games always forces me down basements with no light but your flashlight >: Its playable at least, compared to "Afraid of Monsters". I fear for my sanity and nerves to play that game... (Well, i don't have any nerves left, Shock2 killed them, made me paranoid and jump at the slightest scare)

Afraid of Monsters is hands down the most terrifying thing I've ever played ever- and I've played a good many scary games (and had quite a few nightmares!)
ruMpel and Minuit are working on another mod, called (

Cry of Fear eh, it looks quiet interesting.

Ok thanks. Looks like i shouldn't have a problem then.
It's just i'm still not overly keen on steam. What happens in years time when/if it doesn't exist anymore? How will you be able to play those games?
icemann: so if I have an old, non steam version of generations 3 then apparently I didn't pay for the game? Strange logic you have there. It was quite good value when i got it actually £18 or something for it and the 2 expansions (and also counterstrike, but I never really played that).

I just started playing AoM (about an hour in), and while it's positively scary I find the gameplay annoying as hell. Most of the time I spent bumping into dozens of doors just to see if they open or not, then I could suddenly smash down elevator doors with my knife even though the ones I encountered previously had been indestructible, and now an invisible barrier is blocking my way for no apparent reason. This isn't exactly filling me with much confidence that I should continue playing. It's a pity, I really like the atmosphere, but the game simply isn't much fun to me.
Sorry, had to let off some steam.
