Man, they still use the Wankel rotary in the RX line? News to me. I thought they gave up in the 90s due to the cost.
I had a 1987 RX-7, and man was it a bitch to fix.

Still toying with the idea of an RX-8, as I love them so and they
are good value for money second hand, but I have a dilema at the moment*. My Cooper S isn't much better on fuel (25 - 31mpg depending on how/where it's driven), but it's been a reliable and brilliantly fun motor that I'm also loathe to part with.

I don't send my cars out for anything but bodywork. Yeah, I just found working on a Wankel Rotary more difficult than a car with cylinders. Even something as basic as spark plugs. And yeah, they chew through some fucking oil, MAN, do they. I thought I had a leak or a bad head gasket.
