you know the model patch for T1/TG?(the one that increases the AI quality to that of T2).
is turning hardware on (video) really necessary? in my computer, doing so will not enable me to play TG, so how else am i supposed to apply the patch?
Fallen:Keeper on 9/6/2003 at 09:54
Yes, it's necessary. Otherwise you will encounter some bizzarre graphical effects.

well, i guess i cant apply the patch after all. however, does anyone know where else i can get the texture patch, the site thief.math.uh.edu does not load up.
is it possible to make a software model patch? for texture patch, both hardware and software are possible.

I downloaded and installed your patch yesterday. It will work with T: dp, won't it? (i hope...) Also, is hardware the automatic setting? If so, then I should be fine. If not, and it is something you must change to - then I may be unable to use it as well.

I have a question: Can I use this patch on my french version of Thief? Because in-game signposts and panels are translated too...
Omega on 10/6/2003 at 14:51
Probably not. Because the signs, etc are textures. And I recon that the patch was made with English only textures.

If you want to use the T2 enhanced textures and models with your T1/TG, you need to run the game in hardware mode, otherwise it would be possibile to run T2 in software mode, and it is not. If you want use the 16-bit Thief 1/TG textures while still running in software mode, then all you need to do is to put the line "UseTexturesObjects16" in cam.cgf. But by doing so you will have only more vivid colors. Nothing more, nothing less.
