The ending is pretty simple if you use the terrain:
Just make a mad dash for all the fire arrows, then mantle up onto one of the lower pillars. From there you can either pick off the shadows with the fire arrows or jump to the higher pillar if you feel like it. If you're careful you can sidestep the fireballs the fleshy thing shoots at you as well, without falling off.
Good tip. I counted three though.
Dont forget there is fire arrows at the top of each tiki torch around the red beast
I didnt notice them untill I already killed all four entities with my sword. Oh well.
I only had 2, and I was on Expert difficulty. Bug, maybe?

Just wanted to say how awesome this mission was- a hell of a way to kick of the contest for me! :thumb:

This FM has a very impressive architecture - I loved the ruined and jumbled buildings, and the general interconnectivity, not to mention the texturing/atmosphere. Right out of a Lovecraft or Clark Ashton Smith short story. The Unreal soundtrack... quite good, although I'm sure some will not like it.
I also suspect who the author is based on his previous work (the stamp is very characteristic ;)).

Finally I found the graveyard, but where is the King's tomb?

It's marked on the map, you know. ;)
Head all the way back to the very start, where there were two paths: one leads to the ruined city area, the other leads to the King's tomb.

I need to find the sword. I've only found rope arrows so far, in what I THINK was the fortress. What am I missing? This place has me running in circles but I love the atmosphere. :)

Nightwalker: the sword in upstairs in the fortress. You need to use some rope arrows to climb through a hole in the ceiling in the opposite tower from the one where you found the rope arrows.
Yes, I must agree that this mission had a great atmosphere. I think it's the best of the missions in this contest; the only problem was, it was a nice exploration-oriented mission, but it just didn't feel like 'horror' to me. (Though it did pick up a bit towards the end.)

Also a tip for using your sword: You have to use overhead slashes in order to inflict damage to the black guards. If you do a side slash it will go straight through them! Optimally you could down them with a overhead slash whilst unaware.

And here I completed the whole thing twice without damaging anything but those modified treebeasts at the end. Heh.
