i liked sam & max as well, wallace & gromit is so-so, nice but nothing standing out (so far, 2 more episodes to go) but I just don't like my monkeys and 3D, a thing I didn't like at all when the old series itself went pseudo-3d. and the telltale games engine just doesn't paint such artisticly beautiful landscapes like monkey2 for example had. it's just too clunky while the old art made me fill in the gaps myself.....I will wait for a demo.

That has to be the best part of Monkey Island. You just can't lose with that.

I gave up on Monkey Island after the horrible silly ending of the second game.
The remake of the first game does look nice, though!

I think the engine works well enough for the angular, urban environments of
Sam & Max, but I also very much prefer the painterly visuals of the first 2-3
Monkey Island games. The second one still has the best look IMO, at least in its backgrounds.

The latter? Quite easily. Nice idea, terrible execution.

I would have hated that ending, but I figured it was just setting up for a sequel. Even if you don't take that into account, though, it fits the whole ludicrous nature of the game.

Even Escape from Monkey Island? I thought it was the Indy 4 of its series... (Monkey Island 3, quite fittingly, was the Last Crusade. That's where things break down, though, because I love LeChuck's Revenge.)

The little touches of Monkey 4 (Starbuckeneers) made me forgive it, though to be fair I am much more lenient on games than I am with movies.
