Those squishy sounds they make give me the eebie-jeebies. But since they don't really move or attack or anything I see no harm in including them.

don't they alert other AI in the area to your presence ?

There are no AI in the area, but otherwise that would be something to be concerned about.

I thought there was one mission long ago where the eyeball plant thingies did alert enemy AI. But I could've just dreamt that. For the most part they just seem to watch you as you move about the room. Creepy enough for me!

There are some eyeball plants tucked in a corner in Viki's area with the Treebeasts. I've never played the mission where I went near them. Maybe those trick you because the first 30 didn't (you can't avoid the first ones and the apebeasts never came all the way down from above nor acted alerted), OR the early releases of the game had eyeball plants that alerted AI. Yeah, the AI are nowhere near those first 30. I know it's something I seriously considered would be a threat that way.

I've started a new project for myself: playing through all the T2 FMs (alphabetically .... who's OC? :p ) . Yesterday I played Arac Attack (by Theker) (among others). Never played it before & I had a blast! So yes; I hope T4 includes spiders, even those little annoying white ones.
There's something so satisfying about hearing the sound of your arrow as it squish-thuds into the body of a dreaded gas-breathing arachnid! :ebil:
