I agree with Bulgarian. The elementals were boring to watch and easy to avoid, but if you didn't then you were dead. I absolutely understand "boring and dangerous". That's only a contradiction if you think "dangerous" is the same as "exciting" which is not always true.
It's like a boring person can kill you. Which is not exciting.

One of the most terrifying moments in T1 on my first playthrough back then... I can still remember it as clear as day. I was in the Lost City, out of water arrows, I was at the courthouse where the elemental is circling around the lava pit. Suddenly another elemental comes out of nowhere and starts approaching me while I'm sitting in the shadow at the corner. I hadn't quicksaved during the mission at all so it was going to be the end for me. The elemental changed trajectory right before it's glow would have illuminated me and I was spared.
I want more of those moments. :cheeky:

Voted for craymen purely cuz they're awesome in sound and design.
QFT, they are my favorite creatures in the thief series! I never forget when I encountered my first one at the way to the cathedral, after all the zombie and the apparition encounters I knew there is something even worse down there as I heard the unfamiliar clicking sounds. I hid behind a rotten barrel as I saw a freakish giant insect looking thing looking after me. :D
But this poll is a no-brainer for me, I voted for all the creatures from T1 and T2, they were all unique and awesome!

I know that: When I was first playing THC I used a
walkthrough because I was too scared, and I read this:
Quote:
Eliminate the crayman, you'll know it when you see it.
That made me really scared. In that time I hadn't heard about gamma, so my screen was very dark and I couldn't see a thing. I got to the room with the pool, and heard those clicking sounds. I looked around but couldn't see anything (too dark.) Then I THOUGHT I saw something in the water and I was that afraid I ran quickly back past the burricks to the surface. So my actual first encounter with them was in the Lost City.

I wanted to hide behind that barrel, but the barrel scared the bajeezers out of me. Wasn't sure what it was going to do. Couldn't trust it. Barrels shouldn't have dead faces, it's not right.

This is a nice story indeed :D
My story is different, I've done the contrary: first I played Thief 3 since it were associated with my graphic card, so I discovered it and liked it so much, after I played Thief 2, and after Thief 1. I noticed the gamma quickly, when I was playing with the game settings in Thief 2. Too bad they didn't import it in Thief 3... :/

A crayman fight usually sounds like this: ''Click click click....stab stab WRRAAAAAGH!'' :D
