No we need spiders just to scare the poo out of everyone that doesn't like them. We dont need fast zombies its isn't left4dead, they dont feed on your brains, they just dont like the fact your living and they're dead, so they have to make you one of them. We also need some flys to buzz over dead corpses, or piles of doggie poo, or both.
:laff:
I rather like the challenge of trying to hit the spiders with broadheads, especially when they 'dance' around every few seconds. I agree;
no fast zombies! As for flies; just not the biting kind, okay? I find that type of flying insect annoying as hell!

Yeah, bring back the flies and let us see carrion divers if that's not a name for the flies. They don't have to bite, but they do need to be near the rotting guys. I love the look of the bug cloud halo on the zombie in Cragscleft!

You know what would be great? If the game was set just before the Old Quarter disaster. Then we could see humans fighting the undead across a whole level. And the Trickster or the Eye could be in there somewhere.

Right. And that'd be me perched up on a ledge, watching and taking bets. I know there are Taffers who really enjoy confrontations with the undead, but I'd
really rather not see a whole game or even one mission centered around a zombie horde melee. Save that for Resident Evil.
Trickster/Eye? Done to death already.
Platinumoxicity on 21/6/2009 at 13:09
Yep. The Trickster has literally been done to death, and the Eye already got it's ending. A lame ending it didn't deserve, but anyways...

The Eye, if it still exists, would either now be free from the Keeper pact and much more naughty and unhindered, or... there's still some Pact left and Garrett's Mark comes in handy later on when The Eye show Garrett what it's REALLY capable of.

Oh that reminds me: One of the things I think LGS did perfectly was making the AI quiet. At least until you get near them. It leads to them being able to sneak up on you, especially in SS2. And that's half of why The Cradle was so scary after all.
What? This ain't true. One of the things thief is known for is the noisy guards who signal their presence to the player before he has a chance to spot them.
Not only that, but they don't even turn the voices down for scares. The most archetypical scary creature, the haunt, has got to possess the most distinct loud voice in the game!
It's true that they had good sound propagation technology, so you couldn't hear monsters through walls or doors, and the level designers can choose how much advance warning you will get before a guard enters your room, which may be what you are referring to ... ?

Yeah it's the propagation mostly, come to think of it. Still, the normal guards weren't obnoxiously loud.

I picked burricks frogs and chaos beasts. I know there will probably be zombies and haunts in T4

What about the bears with metal claws and spiked collars ? Straight from the pits !! :p
