Single player = practice. Multi player = real game. :)

Grab the MoonBase Commander Direct TCP/IP game launcher here, get more friends hooked, have a blast. ^^
I didn't, because it took Daxim whole 15 seconds to give up on trying to figure out why it didn't work immediately. c.c

addink: Ah. Nice strategy :)
Uncia: I rarely get to play games with other people, so I'm probably going to be sticking with the single player side of it. I'm sure multi player is good fun, though, given that the advertised "Brain-bending AI" does seem to be somewhat absent from the levels I've played to date.
I've gone back and achieved gold scores for levels 1-6, and 8. It really becomes more of a puzzle game when you're trying to get the gold ratings. I look at a replay to find out all the starting positions, and then try to figure out how to get to those places as fast as possible, frequently firing blind to save energy. Level 7 is a wind level, though, so I'm not looking forward to doing this kind of thing in those ones. Hopefully the allotted moves are increased accordingly! (The wind kinda sucks, actually... unless I'm blind, there's no visual indicator of its strength or direction. You can just test it with a bomb or bridge, of course, but it's a bit annoying.)

You ARE blind. :)
The indicator is the triangle shape between the track-in and track-out buttons. If there's no wind, the indicator displays only a fuzzy dot.

I played the demo and enjoyed it, although it never really explained what everything did. I used the reclaim to kill enemy crawlers, as I saw them do it to me. Did it have other uses?
The virus is comedy gold though :) Best way to take shileds/AA down by far :)

Reclaim will also vanish any friendly buildings without damaging side effects (like collector explosions or lost building score incrementation).
Oddly enough the full game doesn't explain them either in-game, you just learn them as you go along. The AI tends to use more and more new tricks, demonstrating what can be done.

YES!!! Thank you! You know, I just went through the manual again, and there's absolutely no mention of that anywhere. Grrrr.
I initially only used 'reclaim' on my own units, if I'd blocked my own path with a badly-placed cord. It was a while before I decided to try it on any enemy unit, 'cause I didn't think they'd give you a one-shot kill weapon :) That's mainly because I played several levels before really reading the manual in detail. The game has quite a nice learning curve -- you can pretty much jump right in and win levels and get hooked on it, and as the difficulty gradually rises you get the urge to find out what features you're missing so that you can play more effectively.
Random feature appreciation: I like how you can see the smoke from damaged units through the fog of war... I like using spike on a visible unit, and then seeing what starts smoking out in the fog, and just aiming at that :)

You can reclaims ENEMY buildings? You mean the enemy placing a power collector next to yours is NOT an instant death sentance to half your progress? :wot:

Let me just correct myself slightly... it isn't a one-shot kill. Against enemy units it does three points of damage. I believe you can use it against anything, and if the target has no more than three armour points then it does indeed make for a non-explosive demolition (even with energy collectors :)

is that the same damage as a bomb? as it does cost triple the energy of that.
I found spike to be my favourite weapon, although I did accidently cure my opponent of a virus using it! doh

Yep. It's similar to the guided missile in that respect... it has the same damage as a bomb, but it costs more because of its special abilities.

Heh :) Yep, the spike is a good weapon.
I've been trying to get gold on mission 7 (where wind is first introduced), and it's driving me crazy. The wind itself isn't a problem at all, but I just can't manage any better than bronze!
Is four the maximum number of energy collectors you can fit onto one of those large energy pools? (If you land a hub right at the edge of one, you can pack 'em in quite effectively.)
