Admittedly, I was quite excited about Alan Wake at first.
I started to play and I got to shine my torch on the dark shapes and then shoot them with my gun which was fun for a while and then it became very repetitive. But you also collect flasks! Oh my days. Hooray. Only, this reminded me of Assassin's Creed except it's flasks not flags. No Alan, stay away from the flasks. It's a trap.
There was also a story but it wasn't very interesting. Alan is a douche, and I wished he was dead. He hangs out in caves for no particular reason and I wished his wife had left him before the story even started because he's an idiot and she can clearly do better. There's a film Noir kind of feel to the whole thing but it's just lacking .
So, average story, average and repetitive shootiness and collecting flasks.
I guess this can't be any worse. Please tell me it's not another gun/torch combo fest at the very least.
