Pros: MADISON FUCK YEAH!
Cons: Seriously? Putting makeup on is the new "Press X not to die (later)"?

(
http://games.kikizo.com/features/heavy-rain-david-cage-interview-p1.asp) Interview with project lead David Cage. No major news, but a short yet comprehensive look at Heavy Rain from an author's perspective, with regards to what and how it's trying to achieve, and even a technical detail here and there. Oh, and I can't remember whether this has been mentioned before, but anyway, Cage states that we should expect it "early next year".

Some (
http://kotaku.com/5340112/a-flood-of-heavy-rain-images-and-concept-art/gallery/) new screenshots and concept art surfaced at Gamescom yesterday. And if I keep stacking my posts like this I might just have to petition David to change the thread title to
More 'Heavy Rain' info Ostriig ramblings. Come on, TTLG, I'm sure there's something about this game that can get you whining.
With that out of the way, I figure that new PS3 price may give me the opportunity to play this game after all.

Game looks great. Thanks for the updates.

Having watched some of the stuff about this, I hate to say it, but I found the original tech demo more interesting than what I've seen of the game itself.
Definitely moving into "wait and see" territory for me.

The platform exclusivity means I'm giving this a miss.

Ostriig missed the new trailer, somehow. I guess the profound lack of Madison had something to do with it. :p
Ooh, thanks for the link! And there
is a bit of Madison in it! Not nearly enough, but it's there, at ~1:40. :D
Looking as good as before, in general, but this trailer has brought up a bit of a new concern for me - I hope they don't end up trying
more, at times, than what current tech and assets can realistically support. There's that sequence where the guy is spinning his kid around in the yard, for instance, and if you look at his face that's an instant kick to immersion. This isn't a complaint about visuals, themselves, but rather their consistency - many of the trailer's scenes were served superbly by the visuals, but I felt that a select few of them attempted to render situations with a greater degree of minutiae, to the point that the same visuals fell short of what the devs were trying to achieve. The resulting contrast can be rather jarring. To give somewhat of an analogy, I don't find DX's graphics as a barrier to immersion now that I've played, say, Stalker, I can go back to it just as well; but, if I were playing Stalker and everything looked like Stalker, except the Bloodsuckers used DX's mesh for Grays, that would probably screw with my immersion.
Obviously, I'm aware that the game is still very much a WIP, and many things are likely to change, I'm simply sharing impressions on the trailer. Just so no one starts grinding their teeth for no reason ('sup Eva).

Kotaku have (
http://kotaku.com/5344201/heavy-rain-eyes-on-meet-scott-shelby-private-eye) posted up their impressions of a new gameplay scene showcased by Quantic Dream at Gamescom, featuring the final addition to Heavy Rain's playable cast, a private detective called Scott Shelby.
Edit:Some (
http://www.videogamer.com/news/heavy_rain_sequels_and_prequels_possible_through_dlc.html) more interesting info popped up from VideoGamer.com, however. They quote David Cage as saying that while the game will be a fully "self-contained experience", with the beginning and the end of the story as part of that experience, Quantic Dream are discussing the possibility of DLC packs with Sony, possibly as exploring each of the four characters further, yet outside of the game's main storyline. Cage goes on to state that the game should take between 8 and 10 hours to complete, and that's fully involving all four characters.
Also of some note is that suggestion that Heavy Rain may also come with some "online features", though it is not explained what these may be, exactly, and it is emphasised that the game remains a single-player title, nonetheless.
