..are they retarded?

All the trailers - that's me holding a controller waiting for a button to appear on the screen so I can push it - it's the most interactive game ever......
sorry, but I had to make fun of that.
whatever, I hate QTE's but I liked IndigoProphecy/Fahrenheit enough to finish it. And it ended in a ridiculous controller wankfest, what a bummer. Heavy Rain is a ps3 exclusive so I don't really bother if they still think QTEs are cool and rearranging the flashy buttons to different places on screen is innovation.....
we'll see what he meant come release day ;)

Eurogamer have put up a piece with their (
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/heavy-rain-gamescom-hands-on?page=1) impressions of a hands-on session with the game. It's rather flattering, for the most part, and if it's even half true, then the future does look pretty good for Heavy Rain. May even start a trend, though it remains to be seen whether that would be a generally good thing or not.

Pfft, that's peanuts. I once sat through a panel in which a truly exceptional breed of moron was arguing that books are more
interactive than games because they require a greater effort of imagination. And then he casually admitted to having never played a videogame. Well, that's the short of it, the full thing really was a meticulous network of strawman arguments, which might even be admirable for its intricacy.
But I digress - I think that what Cage could try and sell us on would be plot interactivity, as in a detailed branching plot line. We don't know yet what the plot structure will look like for sure, so he could try and pitch us on that. But not on general purpose gameplay interaction, that's just silly, since the game is looking more like the next step in interactive graphical novels rather than the next TTLG pants-creamer. Don't get me wrong, this is turning out to be one of my most anticipated titles right now, but I don't expect it to be my next Deus Ex or such.

since it's ps3 exclusive, it won't make many waves

Things maybe changing soon since the introduction of the Slim and the price drop. Western Europe and Australasia have always been "Sonyland", I know a lot of Playstation fanboys who've been waiting until there a was significant price drop before purchasing. Also Gran Turismo 5 will probably be landing sooner rather than later.

I am getting a PS3 slim. I changed my mind about getting a 360 since the PS3 price drop. 360 just doesn't sound like a value anymore, and it is seriously an unreliable piece of shit

The Pro has been phased and replaced with the Elite, which has received a HDD capacity upgrade from 120GB to 250GB.

Have you actually even owned one? They've improved the internal designs significantly since release.
I've had mine for two years and have yet to have a problem with it. But then again, I take care of mine. Running it in horizontal position, vertical is idiotic and dangerous. If you stuff the console into a cabinet or stack shit onto top of it then you're asking for trouble.

I don't know, don't we currently have PS3 exclusives amassing throngs of unwashed fanboys furiously masturbating one another? Stuff like God of War or Metal Gear Solid? Kinda like what Gears and Halo were on the other side of the barricade? Those things seem to get a lot of media attention and so on.

IF I would ever buy a console now, I would buy an 360. It's a nobrainer for me. it got some games you can play crossplatform with PC. It got the stupid xbox live you have to cope with at the pc as well already, it has the biggest game collection and the arcade marketplace. Maybe I will get one for BRÜTAL LEGEND alone. And I don't need a BluRay player since I already got a burner for my PC. Sony fucked themselves in the kneecaps pretty good with their "shut up, we know it better" attitude. Now they come out of the closet but it seems like too late.
But I'm sure they will take over once the xbox shows its age (compared to the ps3, not the pc of couse, lol)
