I really hope they release for the PC simultaneously, but I can't really complain if the extra time allows them to polish it and add more content, as they've been doing since KOTOR.

I can't wait.

Well, then, it might just be high time I got the first one already.

Get the Steam version, you can install it as many times as you want. No limited activations like with the retail version (there's been no revoke tool released yet).

Crap, I was under the impression that the activations bollocks got sorted out. I've never worked with Steam before, and I just went to steam.steampowered.com and found no Mass Effect listed. Maybe the site automatically detects my region, and it's (
http://forums.bioware.com/viewtopic.html?topic=660761&forum=22) not available in the UK? Or maybe I'm just doing it wrong, I dunno.
At first I was considering a crack, as I have no compulsion whatsoever about using them on games I own, but a quick look around seems to suggest no such thing exists for Mass Effect.
Thanks for the advice, though. I'll definitely look into the Steam option, see how transferring ownership would go, once I get some more background on how the whole system works overall.

I am considering the first game for PC. If it is even half as good as the rave reviews make it out to be, I'll be all over it like stink on shit. Hopefully so, cause then I get a second game to look ofrward to after finishing it!

Oh, you're in the UK? Your location tag is confusing, Romania and the UK?
Anyway, for some whacked reason EA games sold over Steam aren't available in the UK or Japan. The gifting option does work though, N'Al's in London and I gifted him Mass Effect. He compensated me over Paypal.

Yeah, I guess I should change it around or something. I'm in the UK for most of the year, term-time, I only spend part of the holidays in Romania.
It's good to know that the gifting works, thanks. I should get around to setting up a Steam account, and probably a PayPal, too, since it seems to be almost synonymous with online payments nowadays. A pity... I love holding a boxed copy of a game, even if it's those crummy DVD cases, but if purchasing Mass Effect still is, for all intents and purposes, actually a limited installation rental, that just won't do.

There is a crack. If there weren't I wouldn't have bought the game.
