Gametrailers video review is up, high notes for everything. I don't remember when I last saw something like 9.7 for a story.

My copy of the game was sent today, I wonder if it comes on Friday :) Probably not, but it would be cool.

Just ordered it off eBay after reading the EG review. PC retail version for 18 USD. And who am I to argue with a good deal? Reviews are (
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/masseffect2) through the roof anyway.
I'm thinking however that maybe, just maybe, I should finish ME first. Which should happen at some point in the not too distant future.

Just though I'd pop in to warn everyone to be careful about how you redeem the DLC. Don't redeem it on the Bioware social networking site before you redeem it in game if the email addresses for the accounts are different. It treats the redemption code as already being used if you do that and you can't access the DLC. Found out the hard way that I may have spent 15 dollars on packaging.

im 18 hours in, like it sofar....sum of its parts is much more than the thing as a whole: overall "collector" story is just the carrot on the stick and pretty ... boring. but like in DragonAge, your companion missions (and even some of the sidemissions) are the meat of the game where you will love quite a few times.........subject zero is much better in context than in the trailers for example.
and Bioware managed to concentrate all the RPG grind into one experience and show us its ridiculousness: scanning planets. wtf ? who came up with that. you'll see when you play it....
best 2 quotes sofar:
"launching probe"
"Hi, my name is Commander Shepard and this is my favorite shop in the citadel"

Yep ,same here. For the low low price of $30AU. eBay has some nice bargains sometimes.

You missed two probe quotes
"Probe launched" :laff:
"Probe away"
Isn't there a clause in the contract for a voice actor that their dialogue shouldn't be used so repeatedly that it makes you want to stab yourself in the brain :sly:
LOL man after listening to that after launching 30 probes into a planet during scanning gets a bit terdiuos after a while

that's why I brought it up. it will be the only thing you remember from that game "probe launched" .... "probe launched" ... "probe launched"..... it's all the grind of all RPGs concentrated into one small sentence that makes you shudder when you think back at all the herbs you collected, food you cooked or potions you mixed for some RPG dev. the guy responsible for the scan minigame should be fired. but well, yeah, it's still much better than driving around with the mako.
the other one had me rolling on the floor. If you are paragon enough you can get this line and when it first appeared: comedy gold. I did it for every shop I could find, now I hear myself every time I enter the shop. it's hillarious.

Did anyone else launch probes into Uranus?

i don't know which planet I launched probes into, there are so many and there is so much to research ;)
why ? any special side mission you get there ? I started a paralell playthrough with my ME1 character after I got all the mechanics now and it seems side missions have fixed locations, they are not randomized, you could just take notes where to go and shave off valuable time spent on the boring, boring, boring scanning. sofar I tested out:
Adept (singularity rulez)
Infiltrator (cloak !!!)
Vanguard (charge is just the awesome)
...and try to romanze Mrs.Psychopants (refused to have quick sex) as my Vanilla male shepard but it seems this only fucks up the rest of the team instead of me getting under her pants. I hope something dramatically happens and I jeopardize the whole mission because of my big spacedick.
then I can flee with Mrs.Psychopants and terrorize the galaxy.....BITCH

Flying around in a spaceship with a bunch of aliens, and you want to probe Uranus. Rednecks and cows live in fear of Shepard.
Ran into my ME1 ex-girlfriend last night, and she gave me shit for not calling for 2 years. Even though I explained that I was dead. I guess that's Bioware's way of saying 'please experience our new Romances, and just to make sure you don't feel bound by loyalty to your last romance, we'll make them into a total bitch.'
