...which won't work with the upcoming patch. When I bought Dead Space, I cracked the SecuROM right away. Unlike ME, that survival horror game will likely never see any after-sales support like a patch or a revoke tool.
Bioware on the hand actually have community managers and other staff members whom read and post on their support forums practically daily. You also have designers answering questions regarding Dragon Age's SDK and the like.

The crack (allegedly, of course) works with v1.1, and BDtS which is all that is really needed.
As for a new patch, you know its main task is going to add in pay support for the new DLC.
Jason Moyer on 24/2/2009 at 06:31
Actually, it's main task is probably going to be to make it playable with recent versions of Nvidia's drivers, since it's barely functional with any drivers less than a year old.

In before adminz storm this place with "Less crack talk plz kthxbye." :p
Well, ME2 could be fine but I'm a bit worried about requirements. My aging rig (Athlon 64 3000+, 2GB, 7950GT 512) complies with recommended requirements for ME1 and there's still some jerkyness and below 20 framerate on medium details. Dunno why. Unless they lied about the requirements?

That's just Bioware not being able to optimise worth a damn. As usual.

There is a crack. If there weren't I wouldn't have bought the game.
Ah, my mistake then!

Is the Electron engine powering NWN2 an evolution from Bioware's Aurora, or is it Obsidian's own creation? 'Cause it's utter crap performance-wise.
Zygoptera on 24/2/2009 at 20:49
NWN2 used Aurora with a new graphical front end (Electron) which was/ is a bit of a disaster, especially when compared to the front end from The Witcher which looks better and runs better.
They've certainly done something odd to UE3- I can play Bioshock with full details at 1024x on my near antique 7600. I'm playing ME now and it's the first game that regularly hard locks or BSODs this computer, and that's with absolute minimum graphics settings. Having said that it is far better on PC than 360. I think I'll try the newest drivers though and see if that helps things.
[Edit: since I'm complaining about it crashing I ought to clarify that I am not using a crack.]

Oh my, how fluent were the shootfights? I had 7600GT at the time I got Bioshock and I had to turn off HD shaders and shadowmaps and still the more dense firefights were going below 15. I presume you had dualcore? That would have helped you a lot.

Sounds promising even though it's just a teaser and I really loved ME1(even though it had soo many bugs and issues, hopefully the next patch will fix that). I hope BioWare learnt their lesson and not go with EA as their publisher. The next ME shouldn't have crappy customer support and that really annoying and stupid SecuRom.
Jason Moyer on 25/2/2009 at 09:23
I dunno why Bioware would go with another publisher when they're a subsidiary of EA.
