So go get them back. Immediately, if you intend to have them live.
my way to solve suicide mission:
- get all upgrades for ship and teammates (prototypes) and all loyal before going to get IFF
- after IFF immediately awake the geth and immediately do his loyality mission
- after loyalty mission immediately research last updgrades for geth and weapons and go for crew
- do not do any other mission
- specialist: tali/geth (must be loyal, you have to solve their quarrel on the ship beforehand)
- fireteam 1: jacob/garrus/miranda
- bubble: samara/jack (must have their upgrades) or miranda
- fireteam 2: miranda/garrus
- last team: whoever, miranda and mordin are the best imo
i finished the game with adept, vanguard, infiltrator
infiltrator is the easiest, vanguard the most fun and adept cool as well although you have to rely on your teammates for dps which makes fights longer.
awesomeness. the dlcs (normandy crash site, zaaedh) are pretty useless imo. get zaaedh as last member.

Completed it this morning, and really enjoyed it. I've been trying other character imports since, and other classes, but I just love my adepts now. Where everyone seems to be saying they're underpowered, I find that they're perfectly balanced this time around, especially on Insanity.
Christ knows how I'd deal with Harbingers without Singularity.
And not having to constantly worry about ammo is great.
Plus, I rarely used heavy weapons, as I found that unlike curving a power, I had to expose myself to enemy fire for far too long to get a shot off.
I late on discovered the joys of Slam too. Unlike Shepard's other biotics, it's instant-hit, much like NPC powers, and it recharges quickly.
Unfortunately, I only discovered this after completing the game. D'oh.
I think at some point I may go through both games again with characters at the extremes of the alignment system, as all of my Shepards are a mix of both Paragon and Renegade, although more the former than the latter. But not for a while yet!

I was under the distinct impression Miranda was too weak for the bubble, even if loyal. She gets someone killed. Did you by any chance mean Morinth?

Did you by any chance mean Morinth? samara and morinth are the same, game-wise, they and miranda only need to be loyal, jack needs her 10% biotic boost but all work out.i also did a full paragon, full renegade (
gave away station to cereberus) and mixed play (where tali died), now I'm doing a vanguard on insane and it's .... rather boring since you never can stick your head out, well, at least not for 2 seconds and using charge is insta-death when other enemies are around.

Man, between this and DAO Bioware really has their shit together right now. I'm 20-ish hours in, and the game is still ridiculously badass. About the only Bioware-ism I find irritating is the "everytime you complete a mission, run around and talk everyone" thing but whatever. The planet probing sucks, but resources are so plentiful you really don't need to grind away at it much (wish I had realized that early on, wasted a good hour or two on that shit). The game is amazing overall.

Well I just beat the game. Wow! What a great ending... the whole last missions was fucking brilliant. But...
I'm a little disappointed. Most of the game was basically just recruiting team members, then doing a silly personal mission for each one (you have a problem with one of your family members too? ughhh), which was a little formulaic, but the real problem was that there were basically 2 or 3 missions in the whole game which actually involved the main plot. I really loved the plot missions and didn't like dicking around in space for so long. I played for 22 hours, I feel like only about 3 of those hours was plot-related.
But I guess the end sequence made up for it all, even all those retarded mini-games. By the way, I probably spent about 5,000 credits the whole game. I think I had around 600,000 at the end.
I played as an adept, which was my character from ME1, and I really enjoyed it. I just love those adept abilities, especially slam which I got extra. Maybe I'll try an infiltrator next. The good thing about having so many team members is that the second time around I'll play with the ones I didn't use much at all (Jack, the Justicar, the Krogan, the Drell, and Mordin).

mordin is the master. "burns through any armor"
I agree, the main plot always looms in the background but has only about 3-4 missions. but boy was I pumped to kick some collector's ass when I exited the spaceship for the last mission. If you import a ME1 or continue a lvl30 ME2 character you get enough resources you only have to mine every 4 missions. and money is no problem in the game, i bought everything there is and had 200.000 creds left in the end.

Is there any game mothra doesn´t excel in? ;)

Sure-fire simple solution (courtesy of GameFAQs) for 100% success on the final mission:
- Go for the suicide mission immediately after the Collectors take your ship's crew (post IFF mission). This results in the the doctor and ginger chick, who lets you know when you have mail, being rescuable.
- Upgrades necessary for this particular route: The three ship upgrades (armor, shields, cannon) and Mordin's improved omni-tool. That's it.
- specialist: Tali
- fireteam 1: Jacob
- bubble: Samara
- fireteam 2: Garrus
- escort team: Jacob
The above characters should all be loyal, but you needn't worry about their prototype upgrades. I tested this, and they all survived.
Important: Make sure Mordin is loyal and with you at all times, as many people are reporting that he's a bit glitched and can die at any time for no apparent reason.
Also, make sure the other person whom you choose to take on the final boss with is loyal, or they'll die.
Lastly, don't have anyone guard the door when given the option toward the end of the mission.
I loved the finale. It was perhaps the most intense climax to a game that I've ever experienced. A good pat on the back is in order here.

that description makes no sense. nobody died when they defended the door, why should I NOT defend the door ? and what do they do if not defending the door ? drink tea and wait for Shepard to return ? also I thought Jack dies doing the bubble if she didn't have her 20% biotic power upgrade prototype and Mordin never died for me (if in party or not) as long as all were loyal. and you rescue your whole crew, not only Chacvas and Yeoman
