Is it ever explained why Jack has such a masculine name?:weird::laff:

Because Cerberus wanted to experiment with gender roles? I guess?
If one is going to find unexplained phenomena or plot holes in Mass Effect 2 there are a number that are bigger than that, I think.

I thought it was a little nod to pitch black.

That's what I thought, too.
Also, this is the best RPG I've played in ages.

I just finished Tutchanka (slow I know, but I've been juggling several games at once). What's peoples opinions on the Mordan loyalty quest?
I thought that it posed an interesting moral dilemma. I chose to destroy the research data, since the direction that Krogan society seemed to be headed for better outcome under the current post-Genophage conditions, under Wrex's leadership.
I know that Okeer was a fascist racial supremacist madman, but he sort of had the right the idea I thought (without going to the twisted extremes that he did, of course).
Also LOL at Michael Dorn, after all these years he's still pretty much playing a Klingon.
The Hammerhead vehicle free DLC pack should be out within the next few days, I'm looking forward to that.
P.S. I played the game without an internet connection last night and my saves loaded without hindrance. I've got all of thus far released free DLC installed and have actively used most of it. (Eg Completed the Normandy crash site side-quest and Zaeed's loyalty quest. Used the Cerberus long range shotgun, the arc lighting heavy weapon and the Collector assault rifle from the Collector's Edition.) Maybe the internet requirement claims were horseshit in the first place or it was removed by the v1.01 patch, but left undocumented?

i did not experience problems with ME2, I only know of DragonAge where it happens every time I try to load a savegame immediately after gamestart. it just takes some time to login. I assumed ME2 will use the same "need to be logged in when starting game" mechanismn. You can unplug your internet during DragonAge no problem but you have to be online when you start it/load savegame/switch character.
I pretty much did all the choices in the mordin quest since I replayed ME2 so often but my first decision was to destroy it as well.

Yeah, I didn't have any issues playing ME2 with Zaeed et al. sans internet connection.
I do remember that as far DA is concerned, the last time I disconnected the internet and launched the game, it wouldn't let me load my later saved games because it couldn't authenticate my Stone Prisoner DLC/Blood Dragon armour.
Anyhow, back to ME2, I just installed the Firewalker DLC. Anybody tried it yet? I don't intend to until I get bored with the main campaign. Vehicular sections don't sound too tempting right now when I have an entire crew of badasses to recruit first... but hey, this stuff is free.

The online thing isn't wrong, though it didn't affect everyone and there is a very easy way to switch it off (or on, though why you'd want to). IIRC it's as simple as changing one cfg line from having a 1 at the end to a zero.

no, i didn't try the new pack yet. didn't know it is out but will do later since I finished ME2 so many times I won't replay it soon. actually I think I will deinstall it after that pack since all the following ones will certainly be priced ones only which I won't get.
