That's not Wrex, ME2 has an entirely new cast of party members.
True, and we've already been introduced to three, Korgarous Wrexwind (fighter type, a bit 'nasty', big nasty secret in his past but willing to give loyalty to the Shep', of course), Anoarth Skyden (sappy emo, female love interest, with dark secret in his past) and Bastibeth Dawneira (male love interest, bit stuck up and snooty but ol' Shep' can loosen her nuts up with a dose of his love CRC). Once again it's all new from Bioware...

I'm currently playing Mass Effect 1 for PC. The audio keeps going out of sync, cutting off lines of spoken dialogue, it's really starting to get annoying.
My specs:-
Auzen X-Fi Prelude
Core 2 Duo E8500 @ stock speeds
Geforce GTX275 @ stock speeds
4GB DDR2-1000 RAM
Vista x64 SP2
Asus P5Q Pro
All of the latest drivers.
Of course I've got Hardware Audio enabled. Decreasing incrementally the number of audio channels from the X-Fi default 128 (by editing BIOEngine.ini) seems to lessen the sync problems, but it's not really an ideal solution.
I have the v1.01a patch + Bring Down the Sky DLC installed.
I'd appreciate any help on the matter.
Thanks in advance.

yadda yadda it doesnt work.
Have you tried a legit copy?
EvaUnit02 on 1/8/2009 at 18:49
It is a legit store bought copy, I'm not using a crack either.

In that case I would try a defrag and running the game in xp compatibility and as admin.
I had some trouble getting it to run stable in vista 32bit, xp compat & run as admin did the trick for me.

MassEffect is an unpatched stinking heap of bugs and bad optimization. there are parts on some alien planets they forgot to texture, nvidia driver sometimes interpret shadows as BLACK PUDDLES of NODRAW and ppl get stuck in doorframes or loop dialogues. Welcome to the new shit.

Aside from what I mentioned, I had no other problems during the game, oh except one time early in the game when I got on an elevator and my companions were left on the floor above me. But that was a one off.

I had some problems with the game
after installing the patch and Bring down the sky.
So I uninstalled the game and it's been fine since, without the patch. Apparently it's a known issue that the patch causes problems. Imagine that. A patch that
creates bugs rather than fix them.
