I just noticed that they added more Ubisoft catalogue titles to Steam.
You can pick up Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones without the horrible Starforce DRM for $9.99 USD each.

I already did the right thing and picked up a copy of SCCT at Best Buy years ago that came with a Starfarce infection... Still boycotting Ubi until someone ships me a clean game, which is what I believed I was paying for when I bought this. I've actually contemplated sending this game back to them with a letter explaining my disgust and not asking for a refund, but I'm much too lazy.
It really sucks because I loved Splinter Cell Chaos Theory when I rented it for the XBOX. The sound was just so incredible with a 5.1 system. The way the rain sounds like it is falling all around you... The way doors muffle sounds... The way sounds gradually echo more as you walk away from them down a hall...

Do you mean you've recently considered this, or something you considered a long time ago? I only ask since Chaos Theory came out like 4.5 years ago, and that it would be hilarious if you tried doing that now, if only to see you waste a few dollars on shipping it back. :cheeky:

Well that's what happens when you expect great things from a game, that got the usual shitty job of being ported to PC, and is it just me or does ubisoft really seems to suck at porting console games to PC, even more so than the other big game companies?

Ubisoft are hit and miss. Some ports are fantastic, others are poor. They aren't all terrible, get your facts straight. Splinter Cell 1, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia (2008), Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 were all ported wonderfully to PC. On the other hand Splinter Cell: Double Agent, R6: Vegas 1 and EndWar all saw horrid PC ports.
The only problem with Chaos Theory was the horrible DRM that it used.

XIII had a good port as well.

Chaos Theory was a good port IMO. The PC version kept the same incredible sound quality the XBOX version had if you used a good sound card. I have XIII for the PS2, and I loved that game too. The best and most memorable part of the game was the guard who was singing to his friend...
I have certainly enjoyed Ubisoft games... That's not the problem.

I didn't even realize Chaos Theory had an unwelcome DRM on it...I bought it a couple years ago at Office Max. Confused the heck out of me sometimes (horrible map system) and I hated the retarded bomb-chasing, but pretty fun nonetheless.
