I don't get hyped over games much anymore. Whatever gets a good buzz after it's released I'll check out. I'm thinking of buying an iPad (or similar device) next summer. If I do, I anticipate to be catching up on some Angry Birds and GTA Chinatown Wars and everything else that's supposed to be good.

Deus Ex 3 and Dragon Age 2. And I might end up making The Witcher 2 my first Witcher experience, I like what I see. Also, if there's any remote chance that they launch in 2011, though I doubt it, I'll be all over the Last Guardian and TES V Skyrim like shit on velcro. Rooting for that Shadow of the Colossus PS3 remake so I can mingle with the cool people, too.
Oh, and for the love of fuck, STALKER Call of Pripyat Complete mod.

The potential of the
Nintendo 3DS is very exciting, yes. But let's be honest, a new console hardware platform almost is never worth bothering with in its first 12-18 months of existence. Expect long droughts between genuinely worthwhile titles for the thing as you do with most new consoles. Better to wait a while for it to build a decent library, by then we likely would've seen some hardware price drops too (except in NZ, where Nintendo's market share is laughable. -_-).
Besides I've fallen into the trap of being an early adopter of a console and thus been burned a few too many times (i.e. PS2 and PS3), someone else can "beta test" the fucking hardware this time around.
The plus with the 3DS is it's coming out with a slew of interesting games right out the gate. They have Zelda:OOT and Starfox 64 being redone, a new rev of Mario Kart, a new Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, and a new Paper Mario (:D). Plus Capcom has Street Fighter IV and a couple of Resident Evils in the mix, and Konami has a redo of Metal Gear Solid 3 and a new Contra coming out.
As far as releases go, it's got a fairly stout lineup. If it's backwards compatible, then you might as well ditch your old DS and pick one up.
And Nintendo is really good about releasing new hardware that doesn't flake out on you after a month. People still have first rev Gamecubes and fat DSs that work just as well as they did when they were brand new.

Out of curiosity, this will be which copy of the game you bought? Fourth?
Renzatic on 3/1/2011 at 07:47
It'll be the second time I've owned it, but the first time I've bought a copy with my own money.
