hm?
are the briefings dubbed in the german version?
using both, the original and the german briefing audio, it COULD be possible to separate the music from the speech
assuming they do have the same music, and they are in an acceptable condition

I like the haunting music you hear in the corridors of the second floor in Running interference, and the Horn of Quintas in the Bonehoard :)

I particularly enjoied the ambient music of Thief1/2.
Why do not ask directly (and kindly) Eric Brosius to post some of the music that made for Thief (without annoying voice acting, sfx, etc,)? If he won't, maybe he could direct us to some particular other music that inspired him during his work on Thief.

Eric Brosius most probably wouldn't be able to post original music because of legal issues even if he still would have some source files.
It seems I remeber the name Kemal Amaringsham (sp?), the other sound designer of Thief1/2, I remeber his name from Hexen2 and Heretic 2 games... Wasn't he audio director of the titles? I remember I was VERY impressed by the dark atmosphere and music of Hexen2 back in 1996.
Also, the music from the Return to the Cathedral briefing reminds me A LOT the music from horror movie Phantasm from the early nineties. I saw both parts of it about a 10 years ago but it seems I still remember that music and I must say the movie was really creepy. I'd like to watch the movie again to see am I right or not.

I'd particularly, like the ambience from all the briefing movies in thief Gold/1 and Thief 2.

Regarding the music for the German version, that sounded very much like music from medieval times. Could it be from when the game concept was still Dark Camelot?
As for my favorite, I will have to go with the haunting tune of the Horn of Quintas.

Heh.. a swill of joy. That's classic.
And somebody should definitely make a mix or re write of all these ambients to make something slightly original.
