Puffy.wav, if I haven't remarked before now :thumb:.

I tried to start up something of that nature myself, except it's kind of difficult if you don't know exactly which ambients you'll need; it would be easier (but take up more space) to simply extract everything out of the crf, but again, you'd have to search through hundreds of wavs. Or maybe it's just the way I do it, which is to say, I usually experiment (as in Fruity Loops), trying certain combinations until I find one that sounds nice, but this could take years with all the "samples" found in Thief.

(http://devoted.to/thief) Mayhaps you ought to send Lord Alan a PM or e-mail to ask what's taffing. I'd imagine it's down for maintenance or a redesign :erg:.

I was playing a few levels tonight soley for the purpose of enjoying the ambient music and I was reminded of this thread. I went searching for it and I'm happy to say Lord Alan's site is up and running and he has Thief2 Tones available for download. Very cool stuff to listen to.
BTW, has anyone ever produced a full hour long soundtrack piecing together the various ambient sounds from both Thief titles? I'm thinking something similiar to the Hearts of Space program on National Public Radio. I just love getting lost in that kind of stuff.

Originally posted by Cosmos Great idea, Nifft. But does anyone know how to contact Eric Brosius? I'd particularly, like the ambience from all the briefing movies in thief Gold/1 and Thief 2.
I couldn't find a website related to him. Damn I'm sure all of us taffers would eagerly buy his works if he had anything for sale.

Hold on.
I was under the impression that both Terri and Eric were on Thief3. I should probably go back and read through the full thread again.
Anyways, yeah. I extracted some of those files, too. The shipping and receiving one, as well as the several from framed. There's the the one from Gervasius' temple that's fairly good. I liked the music through the first mission.
There were a few others, as well. Little pieces here and there that were good. I have them saved back to dvdr right now, so nothing's handy.
However, my sig still has those few links in it. It's not ALL of the GOOD ones, but ALL of the ones there are GOOD. :)
[edit: Excuse me. Mrs. and Mr. Brosius. :) ]

Oh man I love this quote by Null.
Two words: Eric Brosius.
I know this particular cat is long since out of the bag, so I'll let it yowl. I get a little spinal thrill every time I hear a new sound in the game from Master B. Does this make me a geek? Yes, it does.
Suffice it to say, he largely defined Thief's aural presence, and he's iterating on (and making improvements to) that now-classic style in T:DS
Even if TDS ends up sucking ass I'll still buy it for the sound track :}

Nice... I like the ambient sounds and music from Thief. I always got on alert when I approached the catacombs on Eavesdropping becouse of that tense backsound.
By the way, I need some nice music for a FM i'm doing. Well, a music, suited for a Pub.
