Google doesn't return anything relevant under that name Nicked.

You guys have already hit on the ones I thought of.
Except for one obscure game but still one of my favorites, Hardwar.
Maybe some indie games like Darwinia and Mount & Blade, if they improved on the gameplay.

Aside from the name, Urban Chaos:Riot Response has nothing at all to do with Urban Chaos. Two completely separate franchises.

What was that time-travel action game? Synchronicity? Or something like that? That looks astonishingly original imo.

He might be talking about Achron, which is an RTS if that counts as an "action game", and its hook is certainly original.

I played that. Or at least the demo of it. Up until then the entire concept of a FPS was so awesome that I had devoured any FPS's happily just because "it's just like Doom, man!" but I think Eradicator was the first one that made me think "meh, just another Doom clone". It just reeked of mediocrity. It might've been the long shadow of Quake looming over it that made it seem that way, however.
I played Erad
after I'd completely obliterated Quake. At that age I pretty much devoured any and all FPS games I could get my hands on; Erad was one of the better ones.
I think I hit the "meh" point when I played Quake 2, hah. It didn't help that I'd played Half-Life 1 first, either.
I like Quake 2 now, after giving it another chance, but eh.

Yes, this.
Urban Chaos is a free-form action-adventure game a bit like GTA 3 (though it was before GTA 3), where you play a cop in a neighbourhood slowly being taken over by thugs and terrorists.
"You're busted, punk!"

It is most certainly NOT a separate franchise. Have either of you even played the sequel? They just took it in a different direction. They are both really fun. I have the original installed on this very laptop, and am currently plugging away at earning medals in the Xbox sequel.

REZ holy shit is that game ever deserving of a sequel.
Or, at the very least, an expansion pack that doubles the number of areas.
