Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Half-Life 2We <3 KatamariAgreed, although We <3 Katamari is more of a refinement of the original than a significant improvement.

I've never played it all the way through...
But weren't Metroid 3's bosses just rehashed 32bit versions of the original metroids bosses?
There is no "Metroid 3". 32 bit? Which game system are you even thinking about? :weird:

Super Metroid is Metroid 3. It says so in the introduction. But it's true: SNES is 16 bit.

Sonic 2 and 3 were vastly superior to Sonic 1.

You shut your whore mouth.
Though Sonic CD is better than any of them.

Also: NOLF>NOLF 2 for all the reasons previously stated. I hated that fucking snowmobile level that went on and on until even God died from boredom.
Better sequels:
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow/Chaos Theory
Hitman: Blood Money
Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Freedom Force: vs. 3rd Reich

Other sequels I consider to be huge improvements (though of course, many will disagree!)
Chrono CrossOh I plan on disagreeing in a big bad way. Chrono Cross was a decent game in its own right, but wasn't anywhere close to being as charming or interesting as the original Chrono Trigger.
Speaking of which, I need to get that for the DS. Thanks for reminding me.

Quake 2 springs to my mind, although it's so different to Quake 1 that it's debatable which is actually better.
I totally disagree, Quake 1 shits all over Quake 2 in almost every department, eg in terms of level and sound design and especially atmosphere. The only thing that Quake 2 had going for it is newer technology, even then it had stupid shit like polygonal explosions.

Seconded.
