Hey guys, need a little help here.
My thief install seems to have broken somehow. It used to work just fine. But now, most of the new missions I try to install (using the fan mission selector) just end up taking me to my most recently played FM. Is this a common bug? I wasn't able to find anything about it.
For example, I'm trying to play Religious Conflict V and it does the whole "installing" blue bar. But then the menu screen for COSAS Mission X comes up (the level I played most recently) and there's nothing I can do about it. Not all the missions do this, though. I can easily fire up Being Thief 2 without problem, after which attempting to play most any other mission will bring up the Being Thief 2 menu/game.
Any ideas?
I'm running version 1.22. This has been an ongoing problem for about 5 months now.

Reinstall Thief. It takes about 5 minutes.

then you should be using the build in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140093) FMselect. legacy loaders are not supported under NewDark. you are observing the reasons for almost half a year now.

Thanks for the replies.
@Voodoo
I thought FMselect and Fan Mission Selector were the same thing. Am I confused on that point? I'm just using what came standard with taffer patcher. Certainly no "legacy loader," it only came about after NewDark.
@Brethren, yes that was my first inclination. I've reinstalled twice now---it's always the same missions which don't work properly.
@Yandros
I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

yeah, it's the same thing. maybe I should sleep more. anyway, what you are describing is uncommon, and definitely shouldn't be happening unless the mission is missing files. maybe try to redownload?

I think I figured out the problem. Nothing to do with Thief itself and everything to do with differences across Mac and Windows.
I play Thief on my 2013 MacbookPro (using Parallels) and it works really well! The problem is when you download a FM to your mac HD and then transfer it over to your Windows folder with all the other FMs. I guess the zip-architecture must be a little different across the two, so when FMselect tries to unzip a file which was zipped up in OSX, it gets all garbled. I re-downloaded the FMs in question, directly to windows and they work just fine.
