hi.. im from the Sshock2 msg board and have 2day tried DeusEx for the first time with my new GeForce2MX (used to use Voodoo3 3000)
im having problem with the mouse 'lagging' in d3d... so i tried opengl.. and it looks like shit..
i tried a search on the forum but to no avail.. plz help if you know how to fix it :)

Your mouse lagging isn't dependent upon the 3D card. Do you mean you have low frame rates? I don't understand what you mean by mouse lagging. You can adjust the sensitivity of your mouse in the menus of DX.

M^i^B, Deus Ex doesn't like shockers to join the UNATCO so late, therefore you get mouse lagging. :p
Download the latest single player patch, most GeForce users get better performance from it.

hehe i bought DeusEx short after it hit the streets but since i've always used Glide0 i have not had this problem.. i have the same problem in UT & Rune
when i move the mouse the curser moves ½ a second after.. also ingame.. when i move the mouse left i turn ½ a second later thats what i mean having mouse lag.. my brother has it to on his TNT2
and anohter thing i noticed..
when i throw a lam or go underwater the white explosioneffect or blue watereffect isnt constant as it should be.. it flickers.. ie. usually the lam goes boom and everything goes white for a few seconds.. now it goes whitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormalwhitenormal a million times the few seconds..
and underwater where it should be blue all the time it goes blue/overwater ect.. :/
damn.. i had so much urge to play DeusEx yesterday but having that many problems just getting it to run properly kindof takes out the fun of the game ;~(~~

When does the mouse lagging happen? Is it just in the menus, or is it also just looking/moving around in-game?
If it's just in the menus, I have this "problem" as well using my Geforce DDR. Nothing you can do about it, just suck it up.

You've got me...it sounds like a frame rate problem. This is what happens to me if I have everything maxed out and put the game on its highest resolution, you run into low ass fram rates. You need to turn down your resolution, or turn off some of the bells and whistles. What's your total computer specs.?

Yes, I know what you're talking about. I get excellent framerates in Deus Ex but in certain cases the mouse is very, very slow.
1. When selecting, Save, Load Game, etc.
2. When hacking security.
For example, when I've hacked into security sometimes, you know how you'll have a selection of three security cameras you can disable. The mouse is very slow and jerky clicking the camera, then moving the mouse down to click disable. This is especially frustrating as sometimes I'll run out of hack time and trigger an alarm because moving the mouse around is so slow!
This doesn't happen all the time, in fact it doesn't happen most of the time. I'd say about 20% of the time I notice the horrible mouse speeds when going into game menus of various sorts. I've tried it with hardware cursor turned on and turned off and it makes no difference.
I don't have a solution, I'm just here to verify you're not crazy.

No, I don't think he means low framerate. I had a little hard time understanding him, but let me try explaining it, I might be incorrect about this, though. You know how you use mouse look to look around? Well, I think what he means when he uses the mouse to look around, it responds to his action a second later. If this is so, is it only effecting it when you're looking at some stuff fairly close up, like blood on the wall or the floor? But anyway, decreasing the resolution may help.

What video drivers are you using? I had the same problem with the mouse lag both on DX and UT until I upgraded from the detonator 6.32 drivers to the 6.50 drivers. I know it doesn't make sense that a video driver would cause mouse lag (possibly a directX issue?), but it worked for me. You might want to give it a go.

i get fine framerates and if i didnt the ut engine would really suck ass ;)
Athlon1ghz GeForce2MX 128mb pc133 ect ect ect.. its quite a better machine than my Athlon600 with voodoo3 3000 witch runs it perfect in glide0
and yes my problem is that when i move the mouse left i start looking left a sec. later first.. im using detonator3 10.80 since 12.x had certain issues (on win2k at least)
