The problem is with Direct3D - it's a problem in the Unreal engine. I fixed it by using OpenGL instead.
In the video device select dialog, choose "Display all devices" and choose OpenGL. Works fine for me :)

I believe the problem is in the Drivers/Operating System. Win2K is not a gaming OS. Windows NT is not a gaming OS. For anyone who has Win2K installed on their system and are trying to play games, then yes, the problem could be in the driver, because games are not optimized for that OS, and certain drivers aren't optimized either. Get a real gaming OS Win98, Win98SE, Win95, then load the drivers and I bet you'll have no complaints. Also...10.?? aren't official drivers, they're use at own risk as you have found out with your non gaming OS.

I think I know what he means; I just went from a Voodoo 3 3000 to Geforce 2 MX 400 and in Half-life there's the same weird lag in movement/looking now.And when I knife open a box in OpFor, the sound occurs before I see the knife hit. In TFC, enemy medics poison me from 15 feet away.My res is not super high. Haven't noticed a problem in DX, though. It's a poser.

I seem to remember fixing this problem in half-life by turning mousefiltering on, I could be wrong though, it was quite a while ago.

If you can positively, absolutely rule out your OS, then it's got to be the speed of your system, your video card, or your drivers. What I've noticed with this problem so far in this thread, is that you and another MX guy share the same problem. Maybe that's the price you pay for getting a 64 bit pipeline instead of an 128 bit pipeline on your video card.

No help for your general problem, but if you're also having trouble hacking security cameras quickly, I advise memorizing the hotkeys and just using the keyboard for those actions. It's a ton faster :) .

as i have said b4 my brothers Nvidia TNT2 has the same problem.. and he isnt using detonator drivers.. and i've tried detonator 6.5 10.80 11.01 12.00 12.41 12.60 and 12.90
its a problem in the UT engine.. but i was hoping that someone would know of a way to 'fix' ut so it does it properly..

Buglunch...Getting infected from 15 feet away has nothing to do with your video. It's simply lag. It's the whole client/server thing. Either he's got a much higher ping then you (so to him, you aren't 15 feet away), or your ping is much higher (to him, you haven't gotten away yet). You'll notice this when you're running from a HW or dodging a sniper bullit, and you die in a spot where there's no way they could have hit you (like in a coridoor bend or around the corner of a building).
