Only Jean-Claude Van Damme can play NuGarrett. And Steven Seagal has to be the Thief Taker General. I'd totally watch this movie! :cheeky:
Seriously, considering it will be made by the makers of Hitman, I expect this movie to be god awful...

NuGarrett will be played by Ellen Page. Or Nicholas Cage.

This sounds very interesting as in wonder for what plot this might have if its really coming for real, have always considered original Thief game to be a narration based around one character who's choices between survival and death to be one factor of direction since youth, this can sound hopefull in a medieval/viktorian timelined film just about something like that and this could be something truly awesome if done right.
I am thinking about a possible candidate for a trilogy film, seems to capture a lot of audience when its about a mixture of fantasy and medieval based films but maybe I am being too hopeful. :)
*Because I see Garrett as a master thief only because his circumstances in difficult situations pushed him into that direction..

they should seriously focus on being able to take the next step in the games before a movie is even considred....:bored:

There is only one possible candidate for the Thief Taker General and that's Daniel Day-Lewis.

This made me spill my coffee :laff:, oh god haha that describtion almost sounds like the kind inspiration that might have gone around in-house during Thief 4 development or gotten from.
Thief adaption in its crudest form and modernisation had this series not started out earlier than Thief 4..

This this this.
David Cronenberg to direct. Chris Nolan to produce.
Seriously, if it had the freaky atmosphere of Thief 1 it could be pretty awesome. It has to be gritty though, and rough around the edges.
