I Shall say crumble before the builders might!
I hope a thief movie never sees the light of day if it's going to be as bad as it sounds :tsktsk:

Why are you saying it sounds bad? There hasn't even been any information released about it yet! Don't be a hater unless you have a legit reason to be.

If it's gonna be based on the latest Thief game it'll probably be crappy which was exactly what I was talking about. But if it was based on the originals and not the stupid reboot it would probably be pretty decent maybe

Yeah, right. They can't even pull off something as simple as Max Payne. Also, with the superhero craze going on, that's the direction they would take instead of film noir. You'd likely get a story about a mopey anti-hero that learned to care, but not in a light-hearted manner like in Guardians of the Galaxy.

As far as actors go, I think Joaquin Phoenix would be a decent choice. He's a good actor, and already has that lip/scar thing going on. Either him or Samuel L. Jackson.
:Heh:

Frankly, if we're joking around with fantasy casting:
Constantine played by Anthony Hopkins is a must. :D That resemblence... Though Max von Sydow is a good alternative choice (even if I'm unsure whether he could ham it up a bit, he's always struck me as a serious-faced actor).
Not sure who could portray Garrett, Basso, Karras, Artemus or Viktoria.
I wouldn't mind if Jenna Coleman cameoed as Jennivere, though. :sly: ;)

My vision:
David Fincher directing
Jonathan Nolan writing
Jim Caviezel as Garrett (he's got the voice - watch him in Person of Interest - and he could perfectly carry off the charming-yet-arrogant rogue)
Andy Serkis mo-capping apebeasts and burricks, obviously
Stephen Russell cameoing as Benny :P (because why not?)
John Malkovich as Constantine
The first game's plot is too gamey; it's basically 'steal this MacGuffins, then collect these four MacGuffins, use them to collect this MacGuffin, and then take revenge by switching this MacGuffin with this one!' And the second's requires the backstory between Garrett and Viktoria. So the plot would be some other way of introducing the Trickster and the Eye, I guess.

Who would you cast as Artemus ?

Liam Neeson. Poor guy has been typecast as the aging action hero for far too long now. Here's a chance for him to be the aging mentor of a non-action hero for once. It's like the antithesis of his typical role.
