I'm finding that when I want thoughtful news commentary that I don't always agree with (but agree with just enough to keep watching) I gravitate to (

If I didn't watch BBC and The Daily Show, I would have no idea what the fuck is going on. Then once I do, I wish I had no idea what the fuck was going on.

Coke is Democratic and Pepsi is Republican.
Thanks. I was just thinking how can this be? I like Coke and Pepsi sucks. If there's any politics attached, then clearly Pepsi must be Republican. Maybe it was their colours or maybe it was just a gut feeling.

Yup. If you really want to know what's happening in the States, (

Best to stop being interested in any form of news. There are a few things that are worth hearing about, but there is usually so much about stuff you can't do anything about, and I personally got tired of being outraged most of the time.
I'm pretty sure Mitt Romney is a narcissistic fool. I knew someone who had an internship at PBS and actually met him. Apparently he was mostly concerned how is eyes would look on camera and barely acknowledged the crew...

Until we get serious about election reform, I think we are stuck.
As a country that just made political donations a form of free speech, I seriously wouldn't hold your breath. You live in a plutocracy - that's just how it is and short of outright revolution (won't happen while TV is on and beer flows), there just isn't a mechanism in place which would allow it to change.

I've heard this pov from many people. I just don't get outraged.

Yup. Though you taste it in your mouth.

I bet too, its a case of being desensitized, so much negative news, we turn the other way. Rather sucks.

It's more to do with what I feel I can personally do. It's learned helplessness to some extent. If I can vote for something or donate towards something or protest something I will. Mostly you can't though.
