Whenever I try to place a multibrush it always ends up failing
I load in the group, place it correctly and do everything right but for some reason every time I get the damn thing placed right and go to portalize it always fails and says this annoying thing "Portalization Failed" GRRRRR!
I then go to look at most terrain if not all terrain and see that they're all in place and that none of them are off the grid but for some reason it still fails portaliztion :nono:
Has anyone else come across this same annoying problem?

Are you importing the multibrush from somewhere other than the mission you are trying to import it to?
Here are a few tips that may help you.
1. once you have multibrushed the terrain you want to use as a .vbr, start a new dromed session and set the grid to the grid size of the mission you are going to import it to.
A. load the group, but do not touch it just yet, as it will load to 0,0,0
B. dissolve the group, then optimize only.
C. save your newly made multibrush mission.
D. now, multibrush it again. By doing it this way, it gives you the proper grid size, so you won't have a horrible time trying to get it to snap properly.
E. Note the exact size of area brush you used to multibrush it.
F.. Save the group.
2.Now, in your mission Create the area brush that matches your multibrush, and make sure that the x,y,z specs are snappable. In .00 or .50 units.
A. Click on the area brush where you are going to place your multibrush.
B. Use the Camera to Brush so you are in the dead center of it.
C.Load the group
D.Camera to brush again, so you will be in the center of the multibrush.
E.Use this command in your command window:
hilight_check_snap1
hilight_do_snap1
hilight_clear
3.dissolve the group
4.Click on any of the terrain brushes from your dissolved multibrush, and see if the brushes are snapped to the .00,.50 coordinates.
A. If they are not snapped do this:
hilight_check_snap
hilight_do_snap
hilight_clear
B.Check a terrain brush now to make sure it is snapped, then check a bunch of them to make sure they are. If a few of them are not snapped, then manually move each brush a smidgen to snap it to the grid.
C.Optimize only, and then check the monolog for any errors that show up.
5.Now, if it was successful then compute pathfind.
6.In the command window: purge_missing_objs, then save your .cow or your .gam
set the .gam, then save the .mis
You may want to compress_br_ids later to bring your brush numbers to a current status.
Hope this helps.

I never moved the imported MB by mouse into position, I always edited its coordinates so the MB always remains "snapped".

I'm not sure that even insures that a MB is snapped. I try to make it a habit to do the snap commands after importing a MB. Now if it's a MB that I created and duplicated and moved using coordinates and not the mouse, that's not generally necessary, but importing from a .vbr file, I always snap it.

oh snap! I never had any problems with multibrushes snapping to the grid. I even verified each brush to make sure but it might have been because I had my grid set to 11 which is the lowest I ever go to. Depending on the multibrush saved it could have been comprised of brushes made on different grid sizes.
