Okay; I've done a search and couldn't find any info about this particular music from the Thief games. What brought the question to my consciousness (again) was a commercial I saw on TV wherein they play music that sounds very similar to the music box music from the Thief games. You know the music I'm talking about: when you frob a 'record player' in the games and there's a scratchy kind of sound and then what sounds like a music box melody plays briefly. Sounds like a harp playing.
What is that music? Is it just something that the devs created for the games, or is it music from RL? If it was composed by a RL composer, does anybody know the name of that piece?
I loved this melody the first time I heard it and would really like to try to find the whole composition, if it exists in RL.
Thanks!

Idea: I don't have the game with me now, but given the .WAV file, someone with a keen ear and good music knowledge OR the functionality of an application like (
http://www.shazam.com/music/web/home.html) Shazam might be able to recognize it.

Open snd.crf and extract MiscVOs\english\waxytune.wav to listen to it. It's lovely but I've no idea what it is.

Brosius, during his fin-de-siècle period?

Thanks Yandros. But I can't seem to find the snd.crf file. I've checked the TMA disc as well as the TMA files in my Games folder, to no avail. I find a folder labeled 'snd', but all it has are one ambient .wav & two Garrett .wavs.

Dia, you need to unzip the snd.crf (use 7-zip or winZip...something like that) file that's inside of your RES folder. I'd copy and paste the file elsewhere, then unzip it so you can play around. That SND folder you found is probably something from one of the FMs
