i finally got my hands on aphex twin's selected ambient works volume 2 (builder be praised). man, some of this stuff is CREEPY.
in any case, i was listening to the song grey stripe and i can't help but get a strong pagan/maw-ish feel. a lot of it is the weird, animal-like whoops and the creepy wind sound.
there's another album, david darling's "cello" that on occasion makes me think of thief as well- it wouldn't be out of place in some lightly guarded manor, to be sure.
does anyone else have music that makes them think of thief?

not music for me as much as places and certain architecture, it really drives me nuts especially because I havn't played thief in a few years. I am planning on pulling it for this 4 day weekend though, cannot wait!

To be fair, intros to thief games have been known to have some terrible techno music in them. For me I just bought the score to an icelandic movie called Angels of the Universe (composed by Hilmar Orn Hilmarrson and Sigur Ros) and some of the tracks on this remind me of Thiefy music. But honestly thief scores usually aren't that musical per se, so there is not much that I listen to that reminds me of them.
