Anyone here ever hear of John Zorn? The last album he cut with Naked City was entitled 'Absinthe' , and it really reminds me of Thief at times, one most mysterious albums I've ever heard. His record IAO is very similar as well. Strangely enough, all of the odd numbered tracks on the album are very Thief-like.

For some reason the song "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode always puts me in a dark 'n' thiefy state of mind. Makes me feel like taffin'.
but you can't go wrong with (

are uber-creepy).

Hehe, composers at Western Oregon University studied some of his works. He's big on Carl Stalling (aka the Bugs Bunny composer).

I haven't heard depeche mode in a long time. Some the extra tracks on their singles seem like good thiefy candidates. Like the "Enjoy the Silence" cd single with "Memphisto" :thumb: Also "Pimpf" from
Music for the Masses.
For one of our student composer concerts, Dr. Joseph Harchanko (the newest composition/theory instructor at WOU) played a cool video which he wrote some electronic music to called "The City". It was extremely thiefy. Here's his website:

& he has a few mp3s with some electronic stuff here:
