Hello all!
I'm new to the DX boards, but I've become so hopelessly addicted to DX that I couldn't stand it anymore. <IMG SRC="thumb.gif" border="0">
I wanted to ask two questions:
Firstly, is there any place on the web where I can download the music from Deus Ex in it's original format (mp3 will do too). Secoundly, I hear there supposed to be a DX gold edition or something that comes with a soundtrack CD or something. Is that true, and if so, where can I get it?

First off, you can download some of the Deus Ex music. Just a small amount, though. But, not in it's original format, but rather in MP3 format. Also, in the Music directory in your Deus Ex folder, should be all the tones in their original format (Though, not many players support them, I believe).
Second, I think you mean "Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition." It includes the complete sound track, yes. Also includes a few other things. I don't remember what. I don't know if it's more expensive, though. Haven't looked in stores for the difference in pricing.
Oh, also, getting addicted to the game shouldn't be a problem. I found it to be one of the most addicting games of all time. And welcome to the TTLG forums! Pretty new to TTLG myself, too.

I've seen the DX:GOTY to go for around 44.99 American

Ah, so, I guess it's a little more expensive. Oh yes, forgot to mention the first time... You can buy Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition just about anywhere that sells standard Deus Ex. Including Software and Computer stores. Shouldn't be a problem finding it.

The store information in the FAQ is out of date by now, I'm sure. Many more stores should be carrying it now.
Also, it's not the
entire soundtrack on the CD - with all the combat and convo music, it wouldn't fit. But it is a great deal of it.

I wish I knew where to get this. I'm in sweden, see. And I don't know if stores here carry it yet...

download the editor from (
http://www.deusex-machina.com.) www.deusex-machina.com. you can load the music packets into it and extract them in .mp3-format.

I want to buy the game, and so I figured why not get the GOTY edition, but I can't find the bloody thing in Swedish stores!

Perhaps you can order it online. But I wouldn't be suprised if you get a high shipping charge.

We even have a music section of DeusEx-Machina.com that has a few tracks from the game :) Personally, I use UMXrip. I should upload it to our server so that I can just make posts with a link to the proper version (there are many out there, some work, some don't) when someone asks about this. As someone else mentioned as well, the SDK can convert it all, too.
