I think most of us, or a great deal, learned to love music first by the sounds we heard from it, -then- came the love for the lyrics. So, at least at first, the language barrier was not an issue. I'd like to believe it still isn't, so we are able to enjoy a good song from a land and language foreign to our own.
Though not being (ironically...) an expert of music in Spanish (Mexican, Latin American or from Spain) I do have a lot of favorite songs that I'd like to share with you. Hell, I'm sure many of you have heard some of the tracks I'll post here, and maybe even have liked them :)
All genres and time periods are welcome, so if you know a song in Spanish that you like even if you don't understand a word of it, post it here!
Now, on with some music, dammit!
We begin with a few songs from my country. Mexico querido:

I hope you enjoy, if not all, at least one or two and comment, but most importantly, post music in Spanish that you've found cool to listen to :)
¡Saludos!

Only the last of these videos played for me. It looked/sounded like Rage Against the Machine had covered the Macarena in the 90s.

Kolya - Awesome video, man, loved the photography and the song's catchy. Definitively NSFW, hah! I set up alternate links for all videos, please try them now and see if they work. Thanks :)

Yeah, these all work. Thanks for going the extra mile.
Duerme Soñando made me reach for the volume control - to turn it up! But it was already at full throttle, damnit. Rockin.
Para Que Regreses has weird sad charme, like a holiday resort band playing for the tourists in the lobby. And no one in the audience gets that this is serious and from the heart. I think even the moustache is true.

There is one song that captivates me in Spanish.
"El Angel" by Santa Sabina.
And btw RIP the group singer.

Sadly this is one thing that just jars with me - Latin music. I just can't stand the rhythms. It's not even that I'm indifferent to it, I actively dislike it. If it's on it irritates the crap out of me and it really is one of the reasons I'm not that bothered about going to South America. I'm sure I'd love other stuff, but gaaaahhhh those schizophrenic rhythms!
I'm actually sure there is something neurological/developmental about the way it rubs me so wrong.
