I know it's cool and all that but it's just an infernal racket to me, and I can't explain why :(
I can get on with real chilled stuff but as son as it gets to a certain tempo my rhythm stick says no.

Wait, SE.
Is your dislike o Latinamerican music on -LATIN- rhytms and sounds or music made by Latinamericans?
Does music from Spain, in either of these two large groups, are also on your dislike list?
:o
Even if said music, in the latter category, doesn't sound, at all, like it's made by Latinamericans (though cool, it's a bit sad when they lose the flavah).
Still, some more awesome gems for the crowd with alternate links in case YouTube punches you in the dick:
(
http://youtu.be/pjPA7CXutDw) El Matador - Los Fabulosos Cadillacs (song about the fall of the militar junta in Argentina, if memory serves me. One of the bloodiest dictatorships in LA. Also a song about all those who died because they spoke the truth against such regimes). - (

(

Also, dema - Very smooth song.
Martin - Fs...Link, son, plz! :D
Srsly, guys. Post the stuff you also think is awesome (and in Spanish, the only requisite. With notable exceptions being tunes that have no lyrics, but are made in a LA country -or- by Latinamericans).
Cheers. :)

Yeah we're doing good with the rock.
(
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpiY999wHTM) Soda Stereo - Musica Ligera
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_M%C3%BAsica_Ligera) Wiki says of this performance
Quote:
"De Música Ligera" (Spanish for Of light music) is a song and single of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo and was written by the vocalist and guitarist of the band, Gustavo Cerati. It was part of the fifth album by the band, Canción Animal, and was included as track number six. It is one of the most famous and symbolic song of the group, whose musical influence has been remarkable in the history of Latin rock for over two decades. This song is considered a hymn of latin rock and of rock in Spanish.
It was the last song of the legendary "last concert" of Soda Stereo in 1997 (El Último Concierto), in which the band split. At the end of that song Gustavo Cerati thanked the fans of the band with a phrase that became famous: "Gracias... totales" (Spanish for: "Thank you... totally!"). This moment is remembered as one of the all-time most exciting in the history of Latin rock.
I like the sound of these guys, sort of like Foo Fighters

dema - Ah, the classic Soda Stereo. I must confess, I am sorely lacking on my Latinamerican and Spaniard roots, musically speaking. Part of the purpose of this thread is to flex my musical muscles in this area, seeing how awesome artists like SS exist and I should bring myself the opportunity to properly listen to them.
Strike 3 was good, but not much my cup o'tea, but not bad.
Cobalto was fun and I really liked the video :D, more, plz.
And now....some awesome and groovy Mexican rock surf, d00ds!
(

Ducky, it's anything with certain rhythms. It doesn't actually matter where it's from, but I always find it in Latin-American music. I haven't heard much Spanish music, but I've been to the Basque country twice and never got irritated there. The guys playing the street were really good actually, I liked that.
Edit: And I dig that Molotov track.
Mr.Duck on 8/12/2011 at 21:33
Ah, so you mean Latinamerican sounding rhythms. Not neccesarily music made by Latinos :)
SubJeff on 8/12/2011 at 21:39
Of course! I'm not some sort of music racist!!
Mr.Duck on 8/12/2011 at 23:11
Never thought you were, just clarifying so no one got the wrong idea.
So, why don't you post some of that awesome Spaniard music you've heard that you liked? :)
SubJeff on 8/12/2011 at 23:22
Because it was just guys on the street or in the squares of San Sebastian. It's a tremendous place, great people, food, drink and scenery. Going to Valencia next year. I'll see what the music is like.
