My best Thief bow shot has to be the one I made in real life. I'll explain...
I was taking an archery class, and I sucked. I could not hit jack crap. But on the very last day, a strange fancy came into my head. What if I pretended I was playing Thief? What if I imagined I was trying to douse a torch or nail some poor taffer, and visualised the little rectangle sight on the bow? The result was a series of consecutive bulls-eyes!
See, Thief does promise real-world results!

Good job on the THIEF shot jolynsbass and the RL one Sytale.
clayman and a number of the rest of us like to use Blackmail in TMA for long shots. From the front gates, or the top of the towers to either side, you can potshot the guards in front of Truart's mansion. With a little practice that is.
About the longest shots available in terms of horizontal distance. Great fun.
Another fun shot is in the FM by Christine S, in Murkwood part of the Falcon series. Shooting through the bars of the gated garden near the cathedral to trigger the gate button.

Hello folks,
my best bow shot I remember was in Thief Gold, Lost City. At the top of the tower, where you get the fire glyph, you can stand outside the tower, on a narrow path sourrounding the tower. It's quite high above the ground. At the bottom of the tower, a fire elemental (those flying fireballs) was cruising around. I pulled out a water arrow and tried to hit the moving fire elemental! I had to predict the way the elemental would go and aim somewhere into "empty space" - but in the end, the arrow and the elemental met in the same spot at the same time...pffffft - and the fire elemental was turned off by the water arrow. :-)
Have a nice day!

In that same mission Lost City, you can take a right turn as you first enter the tunnels to the city.
You will come to an overlook that lets you see the tower and the fireballs (two of them). You can take both of them out from there with broadheads or waterarrows. Then when you actually get to the tower you are home free.
You can do the same with the two fireballs in the main plaza. If you go on the rooftops or come in from the backside, you can take them out easily.
Or you can shoot a broadhead to bounce off a wall and attract the Burricks into or near the plaza, and watch the Fire elementals and the Burricks fight it out.

In the FM A Love Story 2 I shot the guy in the hotel two times, and he ran. A moment later I chased after him, stopped at the beginning of the tunnel, and noticed him at the other end going down the hill. At this point I couldn't see him, but I did fire a broadhead through the tunnel and down the hill, and actually hit him in the back and found him dead.

the flukiest shot I ever did was in the lost city. I was hopping from roof to roof over lava when I ran straight into a fire elemental. I quickly drew a water arrow and backed away while sidestepping to try and avoid the inevitable fireball. The very millisecond I let the arrow fly, I fell backwards off the roof and at the very millisecond the arrow connected with the elemental and killed it, I hit the lava feet first! >_< Would have been much more awesome if I'd just fallen onto solid ground, but hey, it made me chuckle.

You should never be allowed near a bow ever again.
