When you see the
thief Garrett says
"No point in going here". He's not wrong.
Then the bloody lockboxes inside that are still
CLOSED, should'nt be! :nono:
They should be open then, closed like that makes it look like the idiot taffer got his lil piggy arse stuck by the wrong end of that portcullis gate BEFORE he could get the loot! Which then makes Garrett's comment
wrong! :tsktsk:
And what the heck was the point then in Garrett having to pay good gold for the codes? (btw - what the heck was even with TWO codes? Only was ONE place you needed to enter a code!) Okay, for realism's sake, when G paid for them he could'nt have known that a total duffer would screw him up like that - but I am beginning to get a VERY strong feeling that realism in a fantasy setting (ie: a game) is way overated! :p

Hey now, Garrett often bribed servants for information and paid for information at the stores.:sly:

Til now! :p
And, what was with the frobbable ink and quill pen? Made me think I was supposed to write something? A eulogy for an idiot?:
"He was a fellow thief. But he was'nt a very good one. And like most bad thieves, he got killed! And since he took the life of a non combatant just prior to getting his foolish self killed, I say he deserved it, not to mention the stupid taffer sod messed up my own plans! So, in closing, let me say, one less incompetent to get in my way in the future, amen to that!"
--------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I do want to amend one thing I said about realism in a game - weather. Specifically, when I see rain in a game and there's no thunder at least, it does'nt come off as well as when there is thunder! Like in this one, the thunder is great! (lightning is even better but I understand that it is'nt an easy thing to do in Dromed!)
The keyring appearing nearby wether you enter industrial district via
sewer or thru the office = GREAT coding R Soul! :thumb:
Oy! Only one piece of loot on this whole train, and I can't find it! argh!
EDIT: NVM. ttlg strikes again! I put it back though! (reloaded) After reading that womans diary I just can't do that to her, damn, I am getting so soft in my old age!
(then again, it's prolly more that cuz of my RL situ (very scary atm!), I am not about to screw over someone who has gotten a promising new job!)
-----------------------------------------------
Man, I would LOVE an explanation of the
"revenge" bit, (on who, what's the backstory??)
and on the
"you'll pay for that thief"!! (who the hell was that from, pay for what?)
Another great FM R Soul, but gee, those bits are just out there in the twilight zone without further contextual references! :weird:
Oh, and those three little arrows on the floor leading to the end of that first spiral staircase you go up. HUH?What's the point in that?
(Was Ellen visiting since she is no longer needed at Rose Cottage?) :sly:

That is what happened. Garrett's comment was right - there was no point going there because the trap had been triggered. In hindsight I should have provided a way of opening the gate, but it's not that big a deal.

When you throw the quill, it falls down slowly!

I felt that lightning in other FMs was overdone, and I wanted to create the impression that the storm was some distance away.

Those two things will be explained. If I'd known I'd take so long on the sequel I would have provided explanations in All Torc.

To show which way the door opens. If Sarringham was ever down there he wouldn't want the door to hit him in the face.
Garrett's Shadow on 7/12/2009 at 19:37
I'll hold ya to it on the (as Ricky Ricardo would say) esplanations! :sly:
(in "All Torc 2: The Revenge of the Choker"?) :laff:
Oh ok, that's good then, about the arrows/door thing. This way (since his face is what's been protected that way), I can tell him (in G's always sarcastic voice!):
"There's the door, don't let it hit you on your ass as you leave!" :wot: :p ;)

Ok, after forgetting about this FM and then rediscovering it, I want to play!. . but I don't have the right scripts. I was able to download Telliamed's scripts (I think.) but any link to GayleSaver's scripts that I found was broken. :(
R Soul on 17/12/2009 at 13:09
(
http://catmanofiowa.com/RSoul/alltorc/AllTorcScripts.zip)
script.osm and darkhooks.dlx are the files needed for GayleSaver's scripts.
tnhScript.osm and version.osm are Telliamed's, but you only need to extract them if you don't have more recent versions.
Lady Taffer on 17/12/2009 at 22:37
Ok, I downloaded the scripts into my FM missions folder, but it didn't do anything. I extracted the files but that didn't work either. What am I supposed to do with them?
Garrett's Shadow on 17/12/2009 at 22:49
When I had to re do ALL of my Thief stuff (TYVM Dromed!), I just put all those extra scripts right into my Thief folder! (iirc)
Lady Taffer on 17/12/2009 at 23:02
I tried that. Still nothing. :(
