that I didn't know. I'll be sure to check it out sometime. But I'll probably just KO them anyway instead of leaving them for UNATCO. But if I did get them taken prisoner, they'll be at Simon's mercy, so I guess they're pretty much screwed either way, poor bastards.:(

With sufficient l33tage, it is not necessary to kill or incapacitate anyone on Liberty Island, even inside the statue. It's possible to infiltrate, rescue Gunther, and reach the Commander without being spotted. Releasing Gunther will entail the deaths of all the NSF troops on the ground floor, however (He's pretty angry) Maybe if you don't give him a weapon, though. Still, his kills don't reflect on you. Also, if you release him, make sure to disable the laser tripwires on the doors - Gunther is not concerned by such things, and will run right through and trigger the alarm. Also the guards at the command post are much easier to evade if you ascend from inside the statue, rather than the outside. Same goes with the guys at the top.
I also had a few playstyle points, but I've forgotten. I'll remember later.

The one time I played I subscribed to the Jack of all Trades approach. It's how I do most things. That style also allows for the Gadget Man where you pick up every useful thing and keep it around. You never carry any weapons that take up much space, such as GEP gun, or Dragon's Tooth, because they take away from gadget space.

I'm a packrat myself, but the Dragon's Tooth is just too good not to keep. First time through I wasted a lot of inventory space collecting armor and camo vests that I never used.

What about Wraith?
Someone who kills everyone he can, using only silent weapons. This type of person tends to stay in the shadows and avoids direct confrontation whenever possible. If directly confronted, he will usually try to escape, or lead the person to a trap made beforehand.

Even when I know I'm not going to need this particular item, I just keep it "in case" something happens... and nothing does. Stupid habit o' mine.

Thinking about reinstalling DX to try your playstyle Randalor

Maybe I've been watching a few too many X-Files reruns lately, but I'm tempted to try playing Deus Ex "Mulder-style".
- You're not surprised by any of the conspiracies. In fact, you have a stack of files back in your office about just that sort of thing, and you have your own theories based on some outlandish connections between all those apparently unrelated files.
- The only weapon skill you're any good at is pistols, but every time someone surprises you, you drop the pistol and have to reach for the stealth pistol.
- You're good with lockpicks and you can use multitools as long as you don't have to know how they work, but your computer skills are barely trained. You keep asking Jacobson to hack into things remotely for you instead, but he doesn't help you because you keep calling him Langley, and he keeps insisting he doesn't know who Byers and Froehike are or where they're hiding.
- You want to call Scully, but you can't find your cell phone, and the few phones in the game that you happen to get dial tones on are obviously tapped.
- You try to communicate with the Grays, or at least tranq and capture one of them so you can bring it back to Scully as scientific proof. Of course, your tranq darts turn out to be lethal to aliens, which is obviously further proof of the global conspiracy. You're tempted to bring their radioactive corpses with you, wrapped in a hazard suit, so Scully can autopsy one of them, but the hazard suit batteries just won't last long enough.
- You mutter sarcastic one-liners at every opportunity.
- You generally try to get by with smooth talking and stealth, because you'd rather not kill anyone if you can help it, you left your handcuffs at home, and nobody seems particularly impressed when you point your gun at them and yell, "Federal agent! Drop your weapon!"
- You're shocked to see Bob Page without a cigarrette.
- [EDIT] Oh yeah, and no augs. [/EDIT]

Reading this thread made me reinstall Deus Ex. What a shame that was :-)
I'm going for the stealthy killer this time. Essentially the Wraith method. I think whever I start I play the same, the sometimes sneaky, sometimes not. Kill all the NSF. That''ll be until I have enough points and augs to make being sneakier easy. I just finished up on the 747. We'll see how it goes from here.
